Just played demo. It was nice! Very smooth and fluid compared to 2K12. Controls are gonna take a while to get used to, just because of habit.

The main positive is the contact animations. There are so many more animations this year and the contact is brilliant. Looks so real and fluid. Also Lebron let a quick flick shot out of his hands at the buzzer which was new, very nice.

Edit - also, I cant seem to do the defensive arm out to left or right like in 2k12 with the RS? You can do the hands up but not the stretch single arm out?

Off to play more!

EDIT 2: WOW, AGAIN, CONTACT ANIMATIONS ARE UNBELIEVABLE. ALSO THE AI IS VERY SMART. DURANT FAKED OUT LEBRON AND INSTEAD OF DRIVING ALL THE WAY TO THE RIM, AS PREVIOUSLY ALWAYS DID, HE SAW BOSH ROTATE SO HE PULLED UP FOR THE QUICK JUMPER. NICE! ALSO, THE CPU FAKED THE INBOUND PASS REALLY WELL LOL

Alright. So. After experimenting for several games.....the hopstep button is absolutely essential in terms simulating realism when you want to do a pull up jumper.

Good lord these new controls are killing me. Never played an NBA game with dribble stick controls like this. I feel like I'm 3 years old all over again haha, it's gonna take a while for me to get as good at 2K13 as I was at 2K12.

Im not really feeling the graphics right now. They seem to have taken a step backwards. But I guess you gotta give to get (more/smoother animations). Also the menu's and graphic overlays aren't that great either.

But gameplay wise I'm loving what I'm seeing. No complaints so far after about 6 qtrs of play. Shot blocking is crazy, had a drive for a layup that got blocked from behind off the rim. that was nice to see. The momentum seems real good. Had a couple of instances were my momentum took me out of bounds.

Ai and off ball movement seem real good. I leave Thabo to try and double Westbrook and Thabo finds his way to the rim for the easy 2.
