No Crew Mode For NBA 2K13

I don't agree that it's such a hard mode to implement. With My Player saving server side that eliminates any hacking. Now it's just teamup that tracks stats and Wins/Losses. They knew so many fans wanted it. I had a blast doing crew in 2k10 and 2k11, I was always undersized and yes a lot of teams cheesed but with good skill me and friends managed to beat the cheese teams a lot. In 2k10 I was only 6'0 running point against 7'5 monsters and we still won over half our games. In 2k11 our tallest guy was only 6'9 and we won even more games, more than 80% I'd say. They could even throw crew in as DLC, I'd gladly pay extra for it.

But it is what it is I guess. In comparision to Fifa and NHL crew from EA 2K is so far behind. It just means I'll spend more time doing Fifa this year again, despite me not caring for soccer much. But I'm interested in the 3on3 mode, really hope it's decent it's something.

This is my problem with them taking out crew and I'll try to keep it peaceful and somewhat unbiased.

Personally, I didn't use glitched players and neither did my crew. We got our player up around low to mid 90's (Mine was a 6 foot 3 93 OVR PG). It didn't take that long but we would also play some crew games with our players when they were not rated as high. The thing is, we usually would beat glitched players. 9 feet players with 99 OVR were beatable. Now of course it was hard, but I'm always up for a challenge. We didn't always win, but beating those guys was much more fun than destroying players who had regular MyPlayers. Now if the glitched players are still your main beef with Crew, didn't Ronnie2K tweet that all the player data for blacktop and such would be stored server side? So couldn't they do the same for Crew? And they said they are working on the servers but what if the servers are still how they've been forever? Didn't they make the same promise last year? Now I was highly disappointed when Crew was taken out of 2k12 but it was okay because I could and would often pop in 2k11 and play crew there, but now that the servers are gone my favorite game mode in 2k is gone with them. I could play Team Up but too often my friends get sent to the other team and the players in public team ups are simply horrible. I'm pretty much stuck to playing private team ups when we have enough people online. Now of course I'll still enjoy team up, but I have a feeling it might be like in 2k12 where I have no reason at all to play MyPlayer (I hope I'm wrong). I'll still buy the game and enjoy, but it's rather upsetting that my favorite thing to be put in to 2k is gone. It was the main reason I had been looking forward to 2k13 since 2k12 came out. Nothing on NBA 2k11 was more rewarding to me than taking my MyPlayer along with some of my friend's players and using strategy and skill to outsmart and outplay the other team. A HUGE chunk of the online and MyPlayer experience is gone. I'd take the glitches and everything with the same old crew mode than none at all. I've heard that we will be able to 3v3 with our MyPlayer and friends but that's not as good because I can't take my team against a strangers team and go at it in a full 5v5 game. I definitely understand why those who don't care about crew don't care about this news, but at least you guys should try to understand why us who love it are pissed. Well at least now I have a reason to hopefully look forward to 2k14.

And as for the hacking/monster pics.. reminder: PS3 didn't have any hackers. Just cause your console easy to hack doesn't mean crew was like that for everyone, us PS3 games actually got to play a good share of decent fair games, especially in 2k11 with the introduction of some positioning cap, small as it was.

I'm not going to bother reading all 32 pages of complaints. Haters can boycott the game all they want, saying they won't be giving 2K their precious video game moneys, but at the end of the day, 2K will make more money on this NBA game than any basketball game ever has. Personally, I hated crew because hackers destroyed the mode, and the quality of online gameplay was poor to begin with.

The concept of crew is fantastic, but the implementation is beyond dreadful. I'd rather have no mode than a broken mode. Still pumped for the game's release, and ignoring all of the butthurt comments. I'm glad they finally confirmed that the broken hack mode isn't returning this year. It won't stop the complaints, but at least all these speculation threads can go away for a few months until 2K14 talk starts up prematurely, as always.

I'm glad they actually told us though instead of keeping us guessing. I'm still buying 2k13 but am pretty disappointed. Honestly if no mention from 2k about the removal of crew AGAIN, I probably would have cancelled my preorder. Hopefully we'll see crew in 2k14 but I learned by now not to get my hopes up with 2k and their online. Or I don't see why they can't maybe give it to us as DLC. Make some extra money off us die hard crew heads, and that also would keep some of the kids out looking to exploit probably.

i'm just not ready to take 2k's word again based of 2k12 so i'm just overly critical now. i really don't like when devs bs around. like with uncharted 3 we've been pushing to get more color options but they had some lame excuses like people wouldnt know who their teammates where when your teammates have green names and enemies have red.
