Except that many of the people who have been vocal about fantasy draft have been offline players. It's a common feature in sports games that has predominately been used by offline players. Further, if you were to look at the requested features following fantasy drafts, you'd see your theory about the Game Changer site would be not be supported, since most are features that are staples of offline play (in fact, only 2 of the top 20 requests are online-focused).

Regardless of that, I don't disagree that it's not as important as other fixes. My point is that it's only online right now. People need to understand that the way things are set up is that EA can issue direct fixes to the online modes because it's their server. Offline fixes require them to go through Sony and MS. Again, adding in fantasy draft doesn't mean they won't address other issues.

My understanding is that a lot of the issues with offline CCM are already fixed online. That means they have worked on fixes-it's now mostly a matter of compilation and delivery for offline (which can admittedly be trickier sometimes). Again, it's a slower process (and that is true for every console game).

If, at the end of of it all, offline isn't brought up to speed with the more important fixes and additions online got, I'll be right there with people who are against such a focus. I have no interest in online gaming. My only point is people are jumping to conclusions.

Right now the only thing this announcement means is that fantasy draft has been added for online CCM. It's premature to assume that offline is being shafted in all this. It's simply a slower process because of the way the system is setup.

EDIT: BTW, to be clear, I'm not telling you not to be skeptical or how to feel. That's your business. I simply disagree with some of your conclusions and the overriding notion that this announcement is indicative of anything other than EA getting fantasy drafts for online.

According to the poll in my signature, only about 52% of the OS community care about fantasy draft, roster editing, draft class, coach mode, & created rosters combined. So I am guessing maybe 20% or so of them cared about fantasy draft.

So basically this was a huge announcement for the 20% of so of the Madden players out there. To the others, not so much

I am very happy for fantasy players, and I am glad it made it in for you guys. personally, I won't use it.

As far as EA goes, at least now more people will form online leagues and EA can show a bigger online number in their blogs and news headlines,lol.

Fantasy draft? Seriously? Fantasy draft?? The most requested feature by far is player editing and fixing offline franchise mode and instead of that we get a feature I and millions of others have never even used ONCE in any sports game.

No offense guy, but a madden internet poll on a message board is hardly something that can be used to accurately determine who cares about what in the overall Madden community.

You are mad, I get it. It happens to us all. A developer will fix something you might not care about and doesn't add something you do care about. Will I use the fantasy draft? Maybe. Am I jumping around in circles for it? No.

Personally, I'm just happy to see EA actually adding in something that some people wanted after the game has already been released. We've all seen them just throw the boat in the water and watch it sail away on its own before.

Maybe this is a good sign that they might add some of the other things that you and some other people want later on. Maybe the other things are more difficult to implement than the fantasy draft was.

Like you I never use fantasy drafts, but you're way off when you say player editing is "the most requested feature by far." According to the Ideas section on the EA Sports Gamechangers website the most requested feature is Fantasy Drafts and it's not close.

I have zero interest in fantasy drafts, but it's good to see them adding some stuff back in. Hopefully couch co-op in CCM and roster editing aren't far behind.

wow was really hoping it wasn't fantasy draft. Sigh I dunno maybe people wanna try to play with their fantasy teams or something instead of actually playing NFL football.

I did do a fantasy draft league once though when I lived with a bunch of guys in college it was a 2k5 season. So I guess I can see the appeal, but its not something I would ever have interest in doing again.
