what i didnt like is that inside shots are still unrealistic in general, and are performed as if they are the only ones in the gym. also the cpu still retreats to the 3pt line when the shot clock is about to expire.

This.

I hope that the inside contact shot slider was low or something because I did not see 1 contact animation on an inside shot.

They need to fix that.

Also for you guys complaining, if they made this game TOO realistic, certain teams will never win. You guys are complaining about stuff like "World Peace would never do that in real life", thats because this is a video game that is so realistic, it makes you think the players should act EXACTLY as they would in real life. The fact is the game is still meant to be CONTROLLED, and not PLAYED FOR YOU, therefore even the CPU is a user, and certain things are still at fault of the CPU unless its on the highest difficulty where then it will maximize the potential of every player on the court.

NBA players don't play their best every game, and the real life world is unpredictable. Sometimes Howard will shoot a jump shot, sometimes Pau Gasol will make a bad decision and drive the ball from the 3 point line. Sometimes Wade will shoot contested three pointers, and miss wide open shots in the first half.

You guys act like these NBA players are some sort of Gods or Robots who don't make mistakes. I like that the human element is in the game, and that makes it a game. Enjoy what IS, and what has NEVER been done before in a video game, other than taking this GREAT foundation that no other game has made, and complain bout what ELSE they could do. Save that for next year, ENJOY this year.

Yeah, and it definitely might be. I'm a recent convert to Hall of Fame difficulty. Not because I'm really awesome or anything, more because of how much better the game plays. Like, way, way better. I see a ton more animations, players playing more like themselves - that is more player differentiation.

In comparison now I see what dropping the difficulty level does is kinda level the playing field so that nearly any player can go off on you on offense. But on defense it seems like the easier settings take away many of the advantages and skills players have. For example, on HOF I noticed how many more steals I could get with defensive PGs like Kyle Lowry. It was so refreshing.

I think the problem people are seeing with the CPU isn't the case of bad programming, its just that team's tendencies don't fit together yet, as we have yet to see how their tendencies will change. Kobe, Howard, and Nash all are set to be leaders of their team, but now they are all on the same team, and nobody knows how they will change and play off each other. This is very visible in this demo. They should have picked the Thunder for a better preview of the game play.

Overall I must say, that players attack with realism. You see a little things here and there, but thats because this is still a video game. Check out 6:13 did you see how Lebron double pumped at the rim, assuming contact from Kobe? That really what Lebron does in real life, and I wonder what kind of system they have in place that makes them decide how to do that.

Also, FINALLY THEY HAVE WADES REAL MOVEMENT! Wade was very unplayable in the last two 2ks for people who really watch all the Heat games, because he would never do his Euro-Step moves that helps him score 60% of the time

I noticed the same thing. Sadly, I don't think many here are even bothered by it. As long as they've got their ability to edit shoes and LeBron can fly from the 3-point stripe, they're good to go. I think 2K is dangerously close to turning into Live. (I hope it doesn't happen)

You guys aren't seeing INSIDE contact, because the main two players attacking are great at AVOIDING contact to make a shot. There are A LOT of subtle inside contact detection going on.

Check out lebron at 6:13, Check out wade at the 10 minute mark. Check out Bosh inside fade away, as he kind of leans off one foot to avoid the block. Look at Kobe and Lebron's feet and arms as they drive. Just these guys were avoiding contact with excellence to get the shots off.

Also check the body language of the defenders, they also avoided contact so they won't get the foul. Thats what GREAT NBA players do, AVOID contact, and the body language suggest the avoidance.
