I was hoping to see D. Howard block a shot but it's nice to see players actually trying to swat at the ball when inside the paint.

One thing that stood out to me was 2k seemed to ramp up the player voices. I heard more screaming and yelling in this video than maybe my entire time playing 2k12. And at the beginning when Howard makes that reverse layup and falls, it kinda actually sounds like him.

Pace is too fast.

Lebron scores every shot and he can force easily into the paint and even with Howard, Gasol and MWP there get the call and almost an and one... Cheesers, there you go!

I will be pretty dissapointed if you can not make a difference and impact on defense again this year, hopefully this will be on rookie level, if not, what a long year again...

To be honest, the game has potential and looks solid, but unfortunately it seems to be as cheesable as 2k12, so there will be no strategy, just run & gun and forcing into the paint with superstars, what a pity...

Same with the Lebron no call early in the video, he gets up in protest just like in real life. The whole little sequence with audio sounded so realistic.

Re: NBA 2K13 Gameplay Video - Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat

just my thoughts and some nice things i noticed during the footage

THINGS I LIKED!
I really like new scoreboard overlay!
0:50 i noticed kobe creeping while directing player movement
1:05 kobe nice fluid realistic Jump shot
1:49 D-Wade euro step move looked a little slow for my liking
2:48 Nice statistical feature comparing LeBrons efficiency
4:08 Great pump fake animation by Kobe
5:45 Lebron throws an alley a little too high for Wade, resulting in Wade not completing the play & Nash and Kobe getting on break to complete a nice bounce pass play.looked very realistic
6:05 looked like Gasol tried to double Lebron
7:55 Lebron bringing ball upcourt ,he chose to attack M.World Peace,MWP forced him left LBJ drove again ball got lost...I have to give credit to the A.I defence here!
8:33 Crish Bosh excitement from the Bench after LeBron's nice dunk.

Overall there were times when i thought the Lakers looked a little lost & Confused on Offence, wasn't many fouls, and i didn't notice any signature abilities kick in...But i don't know what settings or sliders this was played on.The Gameplay was very smooth and looked a lot better than Footage of Early 2k12...

Very nice. For some reason 2k took out the NBA Today stat overlays when talkin about the last game. Glad they brought them back. This may be an odd nitpick but the net didn't animate right once or twice only the back part moved when the ball went through.

Loved the way players bring the rock up. Didn't like seeing Gasol handling the rock above the arc though. No matter. Also I love that the CPU tried to hi Howard on an alley, but it failed. Think I'll have to be on my toes this year.

Re: NBA 2K13 Gameplay Video - Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat

CPU offensive execution was pretty bad for a Lakers team with 2 elite offensive big men and an elite passing PG that is expected to run some Princeton sets. Some of the same problems that 2K12 had upon release (Kobe dominating offensive touches, offense not utilizing the post, offense not utilizing the schemes that would normally be run in their playbook, big men wandering out on the perimeter in non-P&R situations, and ball-handlers moving without a purpose). Most of the above were due to rosters in 2K12, so we'll see if the same issues are there in 2K13.

If this is what we're getting on release day, then we essentially get the "completed" version of 2K12 with speed fixed, bumping on defense, dynamic shot animations, and new isomotion dribbling. Not bad at all, but not the greatest jump in 2K history as we've been hearing.

That's not necessarily a problem, but I base my sports gaming decisions on how the CPU plays and not how a User can manipulate a joystick. This video removed a little bit of the joy/anticipation that I had going into 2K13.

The Association news probably made up for this today.

10 minutes of gameplay. 1 foul called.

Extrapolate that... 4.8 fouls called per game.

"But iLLosophy, they probably put it on low setting for demo purposes. Stop whining so much and get the sand out of your lady parts..."

That might be the case but for a successor to a game which was horrible at contact and reproducing realistic # of fouls with their default online settings, I need to see proof that guys can actually get into foul trouble this year - out of the box. All this new contact means nothing if no fouls are being called.
