Tough list.

NHL 94 - nothing really needs to be said.
NHL 2k3 - the broadcast cam and puck physics at the time just blew me away.
NHL 2004/09 - spent a lot of time with these two, too hard to pick one.

Super Nintendo era: NHL 96

PS2 era: NHL 2K5

PS3 era: NHL 13 (I honestly believe this will be the best overall EA Hockey game yet).

NHL 96. That was my very first NHL game and I really played it every day for 2-3 years.

Damn this is hard. So many good choices.

1.) NHLPA 93- great game without the excessive one timer abuse in NHL 94. Passing was a premium in that game and build up in the offensive zone was a must.

2.) NHL Hitz 20-03- Just plain fun. Season mode with a great hitting engine. I loved Wayne Gretzsky 3D hockey and the Olympic hockey 98 game, but both can't touch the depth and quality of the game. That was Midway at their finest.

3.) NHL 08- I feel bad to not give 2K a spot because they made some fantastic games, but NHL 08 was absolutely a classic. The speed of the game, strong franchise mode and commentary that was good for its time that is now showing its age.
