Madden NFL 13 Review (PS3/360)

I don't understand why any poster can speak for all of us, and say that this is a terrible game. Okay you are all entitled to your opinion. Just please know that there are many of us, who are not delusional, who are having a lot of fun with Madden 13. I can say for the first time in many years, I am having fun playing a football game. Sure some things need to be worked on. That can be said of any video game in this current generation. This has become of the age of "the patch". Once again I will say, in my opinion I give this game overall a solid 9. To everyone who read through these posts know this, not everyone hates it. Many of us are having a blast playing it.

Gameplay wise in Play Now mode......I love this game on the field with the new engine and passing system. It is a ton of fun, and unpredictable.

I give gameplay a 8.5/10

Presentation 5/10 - impressions thread states my reasons.

CCM mode - I have yet to venture in. I play offline....nothing is right yet with progression and sliders and I want my Zoomed cam patched in for offline play, injury bugs, sim stat engine looks like a mess,....oh you all know the rest. Patches are needed...as usual.

I can't deny what I feel about it on the field in Play Now. The game plays really solid with a great slider set.

A full review will not happen till CCM is patched. Ultimately that mode decides If I keep this game or go begrudgingly go back to 12 to resume my year 3 Franchise. I am all about franchise mode in sports games (like 99% of all of you here).

You are the one who is delusional. The user score is 6, and it's going down. Hell, I gave it a 6. And I hated it so much I took my PS3 to the Salvation Army. Which means that there are a lots and lots of people out there who REALLY hate this game. Not only that, but NCAA FOOTBALL 13 sucked hard. I spent $120 on two games that I deleted from my hard drive, and I will never do that again. The fact is that the "next gen" football games never came close to the previous versions. The graphics may have improved, but the gameplay did not. And the bugs simply multiplied. The "next gen" is a total loss for football games. My hatred of EA Sports will keep me warm this winter.

Agree with you 110% A&S- the 1st patch is due next week lets see what they fix, as ive said from the beginning if- and thats a big IF- they fix CCM Mode this could be a great game but as someone stated in an earlier post EA promised us last yr many patches to fix issues and they only came out with 2! Lets keep our fingers crossed!

Yeah, I would wait for the first patch before trying to evaluate CC entirely. We do know what's missing, but to fairly evaluate the entire game, it should be after the first patch.

Playing the Broncos. A pass to the flat. The receiver catches the ball, crouches like he is going to make a cut, and freezes. He stays that way for like 5 seconds. He should have run for a touchdown, because my defense completely disappeared. He had a giant green field in front of him. But he had a seisure instead.

My defense simply disappeared A LOT. It was like they just weren't on the field. The infinity engine!!! Infinite suckage. Guys tripping over each other. My offensive linemen falling flat on their faces because their calf touched someone else's calf.

I can go on and on, but it's time for me to move on with my life. I have wasted far too much of my life waiting for EA Sports to do something they will NEVER DO. If you are still waiting you are a FOOL.

You are enjoying the gameplay? That could mean several things. There were guys on the NCAA FOOTBALL 13 website who were bragging that they were beating good teams by 50 points using New Mexico. They thought the game was awesome. This guy was complaining that they had nerfed the no-huddle, which slowed him down. But in a thread about his game he said he threw for 600 yards on 56 passes. And he was using 5 MINUTE QUARTERS.

So I guess what he likes about the gameplay is NO CHALLEGE WHATSOEVER. Maybe he likes dancing with the mascot.

Some people love a game that makes them feel like a genius, regardless of how stupid they really are.

I just don't happen to be one of those people.

Are you high? 2k couldn't sell its way out of a shoe box and franchise mode was laughable. Congrats to the 3000 people that enjoyed it but they have had a chance to make a good complete game since then and have failed miserably.
