its like catching someone walking around with a Discman vs an ipod, or mp3 player, or cell phone playing music. its like we off that. we've been off that. time to get with the times 2k. get your servers together.
I had a feeling someone might bring up what year we're in. I did keep that in mind when I wrote what I did. My point though, as important as online is to people, that's not the most important thing for a game to function or be great, in my opinion. Peoples' criticisms of 2K continue to diminish to the point where the online is the only really bothersome aspect of the game. I understand that the servers should be better but I personally find that online being the big issue is indicative of a quality experience, despite the year we're in and what's acceptable now. There's a parallel here with the NBA Live series. What EA has put out is not acceptable by 2012 standards. Like you said, we've been off that. This isn't 2005 anymore and the game should reflect that.

I find it ironic that the people begging to giving Live a pass for a gameplay rewrite that's at least 3 years old, are the same ones crying foul on 2k's online issues after they JUST rewrote the online code 1 year ago...

There goes that beautiful double standard!

And for the last time they did not have "3 YEARS THO" they had 8 months not because of being lazy but because they had to put together a team and decide where to go for the future

this was never going to be a year to compete this was a option from the start but they "hoped to be able to advance the game far enough to make a full AAA disc title but they could not.

You people act like you know so much on how things are but actually don't want to understand and show unbelievable ability to be biased

and last but not least i own the best basketball game of all time NBA 2k11
Quit saying they had 8 months man. How you going to get on here talking about people acting like they know so much and then saying something this wrong? If they only had 8 months to work on this game, then that would mean they started on it in January. A typical development cycle for the NBA game starts in October right after or just prior to release of the current game. Even if you buy EA's talk about putting a team together in November, that's 10 months ago. That's not even touching the fact that Peter Moore (yeah, EA COO Peter Moore) said they had a talented team that already had the game up and running in August of LAST YEAR. Whatever though. Guess I'm not being truthful about things (that happened to be facts) and just being biased here.

This article says a lot and people are still going to defend EA even though they put their foot in their mouth. http://m.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Jou...h/EA-NBA.aspx?

It would sell much better if it were released on a disk. Its one thing to have parents see it at a gamestop, best buy, target, etc and see the $20 price tag, its another to look for it online, purchase it, and then download it (There arent as many people connected as you would think).

Even at the lower price point, the fact that it is online doesnt help it in sales. Sure it will get some purchases but most gamers will pass it over, especially if there is no demo.

You are not understand the reasoning for a digital download. EA doesn't lose money in production cost. If EA put the game on disc they will lose money printing disc and shipping them to various stores.
If the game doesn't sell they will not lose money. Fans will be downloading the game straight from the company. There will be no returned games or huge complaints.

I'm thinking you're not understanding it either with assumptions like "there will be no huge complaints" in your post.

How can someone complain about a $20 game that would usely cost $60. You read into my post the way you wanted to and understandably.
