Edit: Why is 2k being brought up?
Every time anyone brings up a deficiency in Live, Live fans always bring up 2K. Instead of trying to have meaningful conversation about the problems and trying to think of a way to fix them they always deflect and blindly defend Live. This is the reason why Live is going downhill, true hardcore fans are to busy defending them instead of calling for action.

Any way both should be held to the same standard. With that 2k13 looks to be really good this year but I'll wait for the demo.
lol, so i guess you forgot to make or check that list when you played live 10 cause it had poor poor animations, warping, crazy ai sliding, paint contact/ dribbling in paint was weird, passing was jacked after patch, and on on on on on that game as well my friend!

Exactly!! so as a competent gamer with total control at your disposal flick the stick to the left. Very simple sounds pretty "Sim" to me. Elite was the first skill based game, you could bet money on that game, kinda like real life. If the person had a good understanding of basketball and a mastery of the total control it was a pretty deep and engaging experience. I played that demo religiously. I've also played a ton of NBA 2K.

Skill based at the detriment to sim basketball you mean. When all it takes is timing your shot to make a three with anyone a la the three-point contests in NBA 2K and NBA Live something is wrong here. "Pretty deep and engaging" you say? If the controls are unintuitive then depth means nothing in a video game. Elite tried too hard to be different when standardization was the better course of action. I played the Elite demo and watched the footage, I wasn't impressed. Deep down inside I bet EA wasn't either, and they shouldn't be.
