We all agree the quality needs a bump. I'm sure EA knows this.

EA never said this is two years old. They said it was an alpha build.

I'm going to treat it as such until I see a more recent build. And if that build looks just as bad, trust me, I'll be right there talking about EA blowing it.

But, this? I'm not going to even bother making a comment about the quality of the gameplay when it's clear to me it's still a work in progress. Leaked footage is leaked footage for a reason.

Peter Moore said they had a working copy of the game back when Elite got cancelled... they have had a long time to get this game together

All they said was this game is a 3 year project and nothing else until Owen Good lit a fire under their behinds writing the articles on their silence on Kotaku

If EA knew they needed a bump they would've done it long ago. I lean more on the side of bad decisions being made by people in charge... You dont put a hockey guy over your game in place of Mike freaking Wang and talk about quality

The only reason the footage is even worse is because EA has seemingly been hiding information completely and people have been questioning if its even going to be released, only to see a video that seems recent that they pulled down because it looks bad

Even if it's an early build, it's still a shame, considering when you take an extra year off to improve your game, an early build should look way better than this.

Not that it concerns me though, i wasn't planning on buying live regardless. I'm just highly curious in seeing how it would turn out this year.
Did they ever even confirm they have spent two years on this game? I could have sworn I read they'd only been working on it for 11 months...

I would wager to say many people would get the game if it turns out well..."but after all of this time" is the mantra you're going to hear simply because they destroyed a great base of a game only to come meandering like this years later with nothing to show for it

"After 2 years" is something that you will hear alot because its unheard of that a sports game gets that much time to make a game...especially when the competition is setting all kinds of standards and bars in less time

Exactly what I've heard and honestly, before I trash what I've seen, I'd trash EA for only working on the project for 11 months. That's inexcusable.

I'm not sure where Moore said they had a working copy of Live 13 since Elite was canceled. I don't even know what that means. A working copy could mean one guy shooting a basketball.

I'm not even trying to be funny...but this looked a whole lot better than that Live 13 video I saw today. Players had weight to them and animated better.

We are about to enter damage control mode. EA is getting all videos taken down from websites like youtbue, pastapadre, etc. Hope someone saved the video while they could

"We took a year off so that we can focus on building the quality that it needs to be. I know better than anybody, having helped build NBA 2K in my early days, the power of what Greg Thomas and Visual Concepts do. It's their focus because, as you know, they’ve given up on NHL recently. NBA is the game that they need to focus on... when I think about 2K sports, it’s probably 80% of their portfolio from a unit basis and a revenue basis. It’s a great game, but we’re not walking off the court crying here," Moore stressed to us.

"We’re focused on building a great game for next year. The team has got the time to be able to look at everything that we need to do to make sure that we bring quality back up and be competitive. So we can go over the whole story again from last year - it was unfortunate, but we’re a brand and a company and a label that is very focused on building quality and we’re not just going to walk away from it; we’ve got a very, very talented team that’s already got stuff up and running even though it won't ship this year, it'll go next year. So we’ll be back."
