I will say no. I think NBA 2K13 looks to have the edge so far. The difference between NBA 2K and NHL for past few years is that 2K delivered a strong gameplay while adding few goodies making it more enjoyable while EA as offered us a bunch of goodies trying to make us forget about brutal AI.
Maybe NHL will get the nod in the end, but I doubt it. On top of it, 2K had to work thinking about EA making a comeback on the basketball market. EA team doesn't have any pressure on the hockey market to deliver the best they can, they are alone!
Like the real NHL, I'll be locked out to start the season. I'll wait if this time around, all the PR and Marketing EA made about NHL 13 is there or if it's like NHL 12, PR and Marketing only...

I gotta agree with you on this one, I dont see myself paying $60 for what is going to be the same exact game with only minor additions to gameplay. This game needs a complete reboot for me to buy it, everything needs to be updated from the game engine itself, the dreadful AI (goalie play was a comedy routine last year, so many cheap goals), to the non existent GM logic. I would have considered buying it if they updated the presentation. Give me Doc and the guys from NBC Sports, update the graphic overlays to make it look like a real NHL broadcast, extend the team intros by a minute, have highlight reels playing on the jumbo tron especially during the playoffs, add the full all star weekend to GM Mode. Those are all features I would be proud to spend $60 on. For now I will stick to the NHL 11 with some updated rosters.
