I was in no hurry to download the demo, as I thought it'd be the "same ole, same ole". After playing two games, boy was I wrong! (PS3) The following is based on default Pro, no slider adjustments:

Graphics: 10/10. Absolutely the best looking Madden to date. From the blades of grass flying, to the grass stains on the uni's, to the overall lighting, the graphics are absolutely stunning!

Presentation 9/10. Absolutely improved 1,000 fold. In fact, my wife was in the next room, and she heard Nantz and Simms pregame and asked, "What channel is that game on?" Lol, no lie. Much, much better than the previous robots----err, commentary teams....and the flow is soo good now, this is what we've been waiting for! (Although the PA announcer, after I ran in a TD from 1 yard out, announced "loss of 1 on the play," lmao....)Although I wish they'd break down replays...

Gameplay 8/10. Much better overall. I love the blocking, and the "jamming" of the WR's at the line. Sometimes, though, my Olinemen were falling like dominoes without being touched.......seems this is an effect of the IE....speaking of which,

Animations 7/10. Alot of the post-whistle animations can only be described as "wonky". Like, the player gets tackled, and as he's getting up, he and the three guys around him fall down simultaneously. Other times, both players lie as if they're unconcious while I'm going to the playcall screen.

Atmosphere 8/10. Okay, the crowd has improved and cheer wildly and boo loudly at the right times. However, they're STILL too quiet in between plays. The fade in/fade out is annoying. Also, the lack of real celebrations kinda bothers me. My guy scores a td, and his teammates ignore him as they run to the sidelines. OTOH, the kicker makes an easy FG and is mobbed.....lol, go figure.

Overall, this isn't a first day buy for me, but it will be a buy this year, maybe even before the price drop. Need to see what patches and tuners do first. Having skipped M11 and 12, I can definitely see this dev team is on the right track.

Yeah, I think they have Alex Smith rated a little too high. Playing with A.Smith and then Matt Flynn you could tell a big difference which is good then bad considering they have A.Smith the heir apparent to Montana. See a lot of bad throws when I played as Flynn

I'm really digging the game and having actual fun playing it for a change. The physics and passing are such improvements over the past games. Even with the occasional quirks with IE it adds so much to the feel and visuals of the game, in both good/bad OH SH*T moments. IE will add so much to the game in terms of penalties, gameplay, animations, injuries if it continues to evolve and improve.

I would love some more indepth sliders to fine tune the game to our liking.

He is the key to the success of this demo for me, but why does Eli look like peyton pre game intro?

I agree with you, except I don't feel the CPU "tightens up" and "plays tough" rather than just goes into unstoppable mode. But I can at least say, if I can give any positive, the blatant cheating isn't as obvious as it has been in the past. I think I have seen only a handful of plays that were just blatant CPU cheating and most of those went away when I increased my user catch rating.

My defense still plays horribly, however (I.e. DB's literally pay no attention to receivers) and the CPU breaks too many tackles still.

Since the 49ers are my team, I haven't used anyone but them (and I certainly wouldn't use the Seahawks lol) but I have wondered how much of my new success is from finally having decent rated players. But yea, I can destroy the Giants with Alex Smith. Admittedly a lot of that is getting Randy Moss in space and letting his speed take care of the rest.

You know Alex Smith was one of 2 QB's with 400 attempts and 6 or fewer ints. The other is Rodgers. Smith only threw 5 picks so he should be better rating wise then he was last year
