I don't have any problems with the lighting, I do think it was shortsighted on EA's part to have both teams wearing color at an outdoor stadium with such dramatic shadows, heh.

I also think the commentary will be like last year and be made for play now games. Year 1 of your franchise will be fine, but from then on they'll still talk about 2011 as being the previous year. Put Russell Wilson in before my first offensive snap, when he took the field they called him a "wiley old veteran."

Don't get me wrong, the commentary is good, but when the Qbs take the field (the starters in the Demo) it's obviously a full line of dialogue that isn't pieced together on the spot, it's one long pre-recorded statement. So Tebow will always be 3 years out of college when he goes on the field, RGIII a rookie 1st round pick, and when you pick that #1 QB stud, the future of your team, he'll have some random slogan that has nothing to do about him said when he takes the field.

Darkfudge I think you made a great post and I think your points are all valid. I guess for me even if the new physics model is just during interaction it still provides a more organic experience. I completely agree it resembles a plug-in module and the lack of momentum or weight is maddening (poor choice of words) but I still think it somehow feels more alive and immersive to play.

Overall the "engine" change is probably the least impressive part of the upgrade but I must still enjoy it as I tried it with an older version back-to-back and definitely preferred it despite the shortcomings.

I chose to focus on what I considered to be positive in my impressions post.
The IE is obviously FAR from perfect and I think I stated that.
But just to be clear...this "DEMO" version of Madden even today, as un-refined as the it is, still plays better than EVERY PREVIOUS VERSION OF MADDEN so far.
I think many of you out there need to have some patience. This is the beginning of a long road to get the game to where it needs to be.

Normal game speed is way to fast, I went to very slow and felt the game played just right. At this speed i really enjoyed a lot of factors of the IE engine. yes i have saw a few whacky animations play out, but I am seeing some more nice ones. I love seeing my RB taking down at the knees knowing there is no way I can make it out of this play. At very slow there is minimal ice skating feel and the transitions between animations is much better. If you haven't played on very slow try it and see if it makes a difference for you.

I feel that EA felt the pressure to announce something big that would bring fire and life back into the Madden community, which we all know was very much needed. It worked because many were hyped (Me too) and were shocked to hear this kind of news, but that hype will die down quickly once the games novelty wears off. This was my first impressions playing the demo. I will give it more time to see if anything changes. I'm with him I feel NCAA is a much better game at this point, so I guess my creditability goes out the window according to you. Oh well whatever I can live with that . I feel once the game play patch is released NCAA is going to be a solid football game.

i totally agree with u tyrant.. too much hype, and it def dont live up to it at all..... very sad overall.
