This happened to me in NCAA 13 too, it's not just Madden

Saw some pretty awesome things in the first game I played.

My first opening kickoff was a muff.. Everyone started diving for it, my kick returner recovered it and tripped over some others who dove for the ball. After stumbling over them for a moment, he recovered and began to build up speed, only before getting his clock cleaned.

Also, on a stretch run with Lynch, I was wrapped up and drug to the ground. However, Lynch never touched the ground because the defender's body was under him. He actually recovered to his feet after being dragged down and continued to run. I was pretty impressed.
I dont even play 2k5 anymore and I think Madden is mediocre.

And while I dont think 2k5 is necessarily better overall, it still does alot of things better than Madden does now. Better animations, better OL/DLine interaction, better AI (even though not as great as some claim) and obviously better presentation.

You just sound like a Madden fanboy in this post. Ever hear of an opinion? Just because some may like 2K5 more still doesnt make them delusional. Its a matter of preference, and despite your claims, its not like Madden is clearly better than 2k5 outside of graphics and probably franchise mode (although jury is out on Connected Careers)

I'm on record on this forum saying Madden NFL 12 is, as a total package, the best football game I've ever played. That statement is no longer true.

The only issue I personally have seen is late-game playcalling; up 13-10 on the Niners with less than a minute left, the Niners proceeded to run the clock out with a couple draw plays. That's pretty egregious, mind you, but that's the only fault I can find. This demo, to me, is fantastic.

The 24th can't get here soon enough!

In my opinion, this is hands down the best Madden gameplay ever. The commentary was 100 times better than any previous Madden (as was the entire presentation) and the crowd was simply amazing. Right now, I'd rate the game at 8 or 8.5 out of 10, but it might get better once I get my hands on the CCM. Madden is starting to get it right.

Dude, this is the same old manufactured excuse for the flaws in Madden. Since when did fixes require several years to see a significant upside? Madden is a 24 year old franchise that should not need several years of room for error after adding minute fixes and the cycle starting all over. Using this logic, it would be year one to any new feature or engine which should give them plenty of time to "fix the impossible task of programming a game to respect simple physics and football". Commentation, presentation, and the crowd ARE ALL GIMMICKS that are neither priority or secondary in the game of football.

I tell you what, the blocking in this game is a heck of a lot better than NCAA 13. I actually can get yards on kickoff and punt returns.

Well, it's halftime and I'm losing 10-3 vs the Redskins. RG3 is not NEARLY as effective as Eli Manning. He wasn't slicing up my defense like Manning, he was in full-blown Game Manager mode. Loved ut. You can really tell the difference between an elite passer and a meh passer simply by noticing which routes they choose to pass to. Manning was going for the intermediate routes, getting his wide recievers in open space while RG3 is mainly going to his checkdowns 90% of the time.

I will say though...Roy Helu Jr. is a MONSTAH! I can't seem to bring him down cleanly for anything! He broke (well, slipped by, sorta like how Barry Sanders broke tackles) 3 tackles and took it to the house on me. With not nearly the defense I had in San Fran tackling shifty runningbacks is going to be a problem for Seattle.

Someone please tell me they have seen something like this so I know its not no kind of placebo effect.

NCAA 2011 and 2012 retail versions were much smoother then the demo's.
