There's no reason why Philip Rivers should be rated lower than Eli and Big Ben. No possible reason.

Re: Madden NFL 13 Player Ratings - Top 10 Quarterbacks

This is my top 15 list of QBs and my overalls for them if the ratings could be properly stretched out (my stretched out ratings do NOT account for HOF players, they are stretched out in order to show tiers of players):

1. Aaron Rodgers (98)
2. Drew Brees (97)
3. Tom Brady (97)
4. Peyton Manning (95)
5. Big Ben (92)
6. Eli Manning (91)
7. Matt Stafford (89)
8. Tony Romo (88)
9. Jay Cutler (86)
10. Matt Ryan (86)
11. Mike Vick (85)
12. Philip Rivers (84)
13. Joe Flacco (84)
14. Matt Schaub (82)
15. Cam Newton (81)

A few things I considered:
- I kept Peyton in between the upper elite tier of QBs and the next grouping because we really don't know how he will play this season. Having him in between will let you move him up or down accordingly as we see him play.
- I dropped down Eli because you have to consider the good and the bad about every player. At his best, he is a playoff performer/Super Bowl champion. At his worst, he is very turnover prone and even had trouble getting into the playoffs in the first place. I think it's fair to place him with Big Ben.
- If Stafford has another year like last year, he will earn a 90+ rating.

Just some food for thought. Oh and I feel like Schaub may be just a tad too low...

Matt Schaub gets no respect this year.

Philip Rivers playoff record: 3-4
Philip Rivers playoff performances:
Game 1 (Loss, 24-21 vs. New England): 14-32, 230 YD, 0 TD, 1 INT.
Game 2 (Win, 17-6 vs. Tennessee): 19-30, 292 YD, 1TD, 1 INT.
Game 3 (Win, 28-24 vs. Indianapolis): 14-19, 264 YD, 3 TD, 1 INT.
Game 4 (Loss, 21-12 vs. New England): 19-37, 211 YD, 0 TD, 2 INT.
Game 5 (Win, 23-17 vs. Indianapolis): 20-36, 217 YD, 0 TD, 1 INT.
Game 6 (Loss, 35-24 vs. Pittsburgh): 21-35, 308 YD, 3 TD, 1 INT.
Game 7 (Loss, 17-14 vs. NYJ): 27-40, 298 YD, 1 TD, 2 INT.
(I got these performance stats from this article http://bleacherreport.com/articles/7...resumes/page/7)
Super Bowl appearances:0

Basically, Eli and Ben put up comparable stats AND have rings on their fingers. What separates them is the playoff performances.

Like I said at the bottom of my post, I feel he may need to be higher, I just haven't decided exactly how high to put him. But I agree, a lot of people are forgetting about him.

Eli is fine where he at b/c he beat 2 of the top 3 on this list 2 win the superbowl last year. So y shouldn't he be rank 97 this year?

Re: Madden NFL 13 Player Ratings - Top 10 Quarterbacks

Three players should be in the 90's. Rodgers, Brady, and Brees.

Eli needs to be more consistent year after year. Peyton needs to show he is still the same Peyton. Stafford needs to show he can stay healthy again to put up good numbers again. Romo, Vick, Schaub all need better playoff records. Rivers was a bit off last season. Cam has only played one year, so fans of his need to calm down. Plus he threw a lot of INTs. Also Big Ben is a little inconsistent like Eli so yeah.
