It's not a perfect attitude to have being ok being used as a beta tester. It's one thing to just overlook bugs and enjoy the game, that's fine. But to be ok with them releasing a product with as many problems as this game has on release and having to wait a month for a patch to come out just excuses them for doing a piss poor job.

If you bought a car, lets say Dodge for hypothetical purposes, that mostly worked but every so often when you're sitting at a red light, the light goes green, you hit the gas but the car won't move. You'd be upset at Dodge even if they had a recall a month later to fix the issue. You'd still be pissed that you spent money on a car that stops working at times.

Now i know someone will say a car is more important or a bigger deal than a video game but that's irrelevant.
You're not getting me.

I am OK with it because I know the risks. I know the game might come out with some bugs and some pretty irritating ****. It's just a video game to me. Nothing more. I am not getting in with your cause because the game doesn't affect me like that. It just doesn't. It sucks that it freezes on people and that's unacceptable, but I haven't had a single freeze in the 15 or so games I've played. I don't experience these same problems that others do, for whatever reason.

I'm not excusing them from doing a "piss poor job." If I felt they were doing that then I simply would not buy the game. The game could be better but again, people know the risks. This game has let so many people down over the past five or so years, but yet they continue to buy it on or near release day every year. Then they come here and complain endlessly about it.

LOL at the car comparison. If that were the case, the car would go back because it would be under warranty and it would either get fixed or I would get refunded and I'd choose another car. But to piggyback off of that analogy, that would be like me buying the same car every single year, and every year it can't be driven. It's just a huge POS and it always lets me down... But for whatever reason, every year, I line up to buy the same car the day it gets released. Hell, I know the problems I have had with it in the past, but I buy it any way. Then I complain about the car and the same issues I've had with it over the years.

I just don't view this game the same way as you.

I am in the minority but would pay an extra $10-$15 just for more equipment options. I would like to see the ability to edit cleat colors and styles like we can with helmets. Or maybe just add every shoe that's been worn to the game like basketball games do. The footwear and equipment are huge for me because with the right combination you can bring a dull uniform to life. Just my opinion though.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Free and Paid DLC Uniforms Are Coming to the Uniform Store

This is about uniforms, gameplay is completely irrelevant to the discussion. I'm enjoying this game and say it's easily the best next generation football game to date. Does it have it's issues? Yes. So does every other game, I am old enough to not dwell on what isnt there and enjoy what is. I love football, and this game has done more than enough to earn the $60 I paid for it.

Creating extra uniforms is work, regardless if you see it as such. That they are willing to give out free updates for their own mistakes is a huge step forward for the company. Like it or not, the vibe surrounding Tiburon is changing. I was a big critic of them last year, but this years release is much better.

There are 100's of other threads with impressions, complaints, etc. Bringing it into one that has nothing to do with impressions of said game is irrelevant and flat out immature. (To defend that idea, my defense of the game joins the off-topic discussion)

Actually the vibe has gotten worse, just look at the fact that so many are down on the game this year that even gaming sites like IGN & Gamespot who are normally easy on sports games, gave it less than positive reviews. It got a 6.5 on Gamespot, how is that positive?

NCAA Football 13 offers the same experience as every other version, along with a number of new problems.
The Good
  • Small though welcome improvements
  • Exciting head-to-head competition.
The Bad
  • Locking away Heisman winners is underhanded
  • Poorly designed, unresponsive menus
  • Bland Dynasty mode
  • Host of problems in desperate need of fixing.
In real life, sports are a merciless competition in which only the strong survive. Punishment is swift and severe for teams that languish, so there is a constant push to make huge improvements from one season to the next. Virtual sports are very different. The NCAA Football franchise has been lagging for years, shoving the same basic content out the door without any major changes to keep things fresh. Its lack of evolution goes against everything professional sports have been built upon. And NCAA Football 13 continues this unfortunate trend. Although the gridiron action is solid, dull off-field activities and crushing familiarity make this another tired entry in the stuck-in-the-mud franchise.

Despite the appeal of reliving past glories, there are two obvious problems with Heisman Challenge. The first directly affects the on-field action. Each dimming star has access to Reaction Time, a special move that slows down time. Considering that NCAA Football strives to provide an authentic experience, this out-of-place feature clashes with the realism (or attempted realism) present in almost every other area. Granted, the bar allows for only a few seconds of slow motion per play, but it refills quickly, so you can use and abuse it to your heart's content. The second major problem is a victim of the downloadable-content craze. Six of the players require an alternate means to unlock (preorder bonus, through the demo, future DLC), which is downright chintzy in a game sorely lacking new content.

Thankfully, once you move away from the Heisman Challenge and into the more team-focused modes, the action is as good as ever. NCAA Football 13 hasn't changed much from previous iterations, but there are a number of small tweaks to the passing game, which the diligent should appreciate. One problem that has plagued the franchise for years is a receiver's inability to properly navigate the sidelines. The frustration from previous games has finally been minimized. An assortment of new animations and improved artificial intelligence ensure receivers now catch the ball inbounds instead of running off the field, oblivious to rules and regulations. Furthermore, quarterbacks are more accurate than ever. Putting touch on a pass or slinging it to a specific place on the field is much easier now, letting you march down the field through the air with the biggest roadblock being your own skill.

The revamped passing game comes at the expense of a diminished defensive impact. Defenders are often slow to react, especially when playing zone, so they pose little threat for a quarterback who's feeling his oats. Interceptions are still handled extremely poorly. Catching an errant throw is completely random because the stone-handed cornerbacks can't hang on to a ball to save their lives. So when you do come away with an interception, it doesn’t feel like a prize obtained through skill and cunning; rather, it feels as if the computer randomly handed out a gift to keep you invested. This problem has existed in NCAA Football for more than a decade, and it's embarrassing that it has resurfaced in yet another entry. Dropped passes make defense feel unpredictable and arbitrary, draining the satisfaction of a well-executed play.
So basically the only positive in this review is the passing which pretty much everyone can agree is better this year. But to act like the complaining is unreasonable, its not.

Its a hit & miss game. I enjoyed NCAA 11. I thought it was the best in the series in a long time. NCAA 12 i thought was a step back. I bought NCAA 13 hoping they would improve the game and i'd enjoy it the way i did NCAA 11 but when the CPU can't run the option that's a big problem considering there are teams out there like Georgia Tech who are 98% option run. I don't find it fun when the CPU gives me an automatic sack because they decided to call a screen pass.

On a more macro level, NCAA Football 13 reps told me back in April that they were working under NDAs with schools to have their new uniforms in the game. I can't speak for every squad, but I do know that my Missouri Tigers new SEC duds are not in NCAA Football 13 -- nor do the announcers ever mention in a game that it's a big deal this team is in a new conference.

However, recruiting has been modified to make it easier to improve your school's rating and hone in on a prospect's priorities. Other than that, pretty much the same experience as last year.

NCAA Football 13 is a great game -- the changes to the core engine are welcome, challenging and exciting -- but the little stuff adds up. Similar modes, audio inaccuracies and visual missteps make a game that's better than last year's on the technical level but lesser as an overall product.
A lot of people were frustrated by the minimal amount of change in this years game. So when on top of that you're going to charge for extra stuff, whether it's jerseys or whatever, it's going to piss some people off.

If the game were great this year then i'd have no problem with them charging for uniforms. But when they put out a subpar product that is so much like last years game, down to the ridiculously slow menus, with issues like my dynasty freezing and many of the gameplay issues that have been discussed on here already, then i have a problem with it.

It's just not a good year to be asking customers to break open their wallets for any amount of extra money with the subpar product they put out.

Oh well. Don't get the jerseys then. Lol your saying o"open their wallets" like it's some huge expense. Surely you can't be serious. The game is sixty bucks plus tax at most. You decided to get it, end of story. It really is not that serous. Jerseys are probably going to run you 20 to 40 bucks extra at most. Big deal. Nothing is free, get over it. Or don't get the game. It's really that simple.

So we should pay 100 bucks for a complete game? Makes sense...

Seriously do any other sports games make you pay for uniforms? To my knowledge all the jerseys teams wear are included in the 60$ price wen
i buy the show or nba 2k
