Yeah, the last clip (chi/det) was a "broadcast" camera angle. What I would still question is: is the clip in replay mode or is it actually being played? I know I used to save all my highlights in broadcast angle from the replay screen. I can't remember if the player icons (the 3d triangle above the head) were captured in the save. I remember in NHL 10 or 11 I was disappointed with something being in the saved highlight that, I thought, shouldn't have been there because it wasn't in the automatic replays.

I can't recall. Anyone have any insight, or any confirmation on an actual broadcast camera?

It all looks great and looks like it will make the game a ton better offline; however, all the "new" backskating you can do with the puck around the faceoff dots looks like it will lead to the online play moving further and further away from real hockey. That last goal scored in the video where he skates backwards into the middle from the dot and shoots reminds me of the cheese breakaway move from a couple NHL games ago where you would skate in with your back to the goalie and just shoot it around him every time.

It will also be interesting to see how players respond to getting checked while carrying the puck with the new backskating animations.

In NHL 12, it's impossible to hit anyone who's skating backwards with the puck. Every time, you just bounce right off the puck carrier.

I do know for certain that it was in-game footage, because the score-ticker isn't shown for replays. So yes, a real broadcast camera is in game.

skating looks great.

passes are too accurate but cant reaaly judge that on these sliders.

blue line defense by the ai will really add to the game. the new jersey 4 man line at the blue line was amazing to see. total 180.

goalies are improved in their movement but i am afraid that top shelf goals will still rule the day if you try to score from clean shots. yes i know top shelf is a good way to score in real life but there are plenty of goals scored on the bottom part of the net or even along the ice from cleqn shots. i have always had this complaint for ea nhl....after a while u find yourself shooting only high net. one thing i will definitely look for in the demo.

Well this all looks very nice...
Gotta say I am, just like many of you, a bit concerned about the new back skating.
It seems since it is a new* mechanic, that they've made it to easy.
Now again, it could be that they're just putting together lots of clips where the back skating succeeds, because they wanna show it off, but anyway, it feels like a cheese move already.

* Vision Control made you face the goal on offense, or the puck on defense which at many times could be used for back skating. I think this new mechanic means skating backwards in relation to the direction you're skating. Not in relation to the puck or the goal.

Oh, and is that a fake pass in the last attack (at about 4:30 in the video)? Sweet.

That looked absolutely outstanding. Love the new skating engine and the goalies. And the passes look like they've lossend up too. They're still really accurate, but it looks like it'll be easier for somebody to come in and take the puck away. Looks great.
