wow, hardheaded people. they cant guys, NCAA controls content based on license. They cannot do this, without paying for it. They cannot make money off of a revenue generating (bowls make money) aspect of whats in the game. which means if they put the playoffs and use the real bowls they have to pay the bowls like they do already to have them in the game. they make a % off of each sell just like the schools do. if you add the playoff they would have to not use the bowls and make up a playoff that has not link to current bowls. ONce the bowl rotation schedule is approved and which bowls will be used are in then they will know how much each school gets. also the ncaa lisence experation date comes into play. you only hope is they make up their own playoff system, unlikely or they get it in for next season and it adds in for season 2014. this isnt hard to understand guys. why would ea spend time making a playoff system that they would just have to rewrite when they find out system. The NCAA lawyers still get approval on everything. they removed the academic and suspensions from this game because of image. they also didnt allow rivals in when they EA had already put them in the game. Its not ea's call. let the ncaa know that you want a playoff in the game. Try Mike Slive (sec president), he might care. come on kiddo's you guys are smarter than this. I know you guys can contemplate the business side.

I just have a hard time believing that EA could handle doing this even if they wanted to.

I mean, it took them a couple patches last year just to fix custom playbooks. I mean honestly, even if they wanted to, could they add a brand new component to the game post-release?

I don't know if this has been brought up (Reading six pages of people saying, "IF IT'S NOT IN, I'LL NEVER BUY AN EA GAME AGAIN!" and other people saying, "THEIR IDEA OF A PLAYOFF IS NOT EVEN COMPLETE YET!" is not generally how I choose to spend my time on here.) but wouldn't it be the neutral stance AND user-friendly stance to do what they did with conference alignment and allow us to CHOOSE from season to season? If you want a sixteen team playoff from the get-go, you can. If you want what they think will be the case and start a four team playoff in 2014 or 2015, you can. If you want BCS forever, you're dumb but you can. Just a thought. The question is a good question, but it's more of an open-ended question than what all of you fine OS'ers are making it.

That's what I've been saying all along

I believe the NCAA does not allow that. EA used to have it.

I am totally convinced that most of the people here are either 10 years old or never had a real job in your lives. For one there is a little thing called a CONTRACT!!! EA has a contract with the NCAA and they cannot just put something in the game without getting some approval or they will no longer have a game to make. And no, the next company would not be able to put in a playoff in their game either, not until everything is finalized and concluded and everyone has signed on the dotted line.

Then this playoff system is changing daily. I can tell no one watches actual NCAA news. Do you fools know that the ACC just signed a 12 year contract with the Orange Bowl? The game will be played at 1:00 in the afternoon on New Year's Day and will have some possible playoff involvement, but not yet determined. Heck all you have to do is watch College Football Live on a regular basis and you will see how much this story has changed. Also the Big 12 and SEC have created a new bowl and have named it, but have not figured out the details of when it will be played and where it will be played. And yes, this has not been determined yet either.

Now you fools want EA to put in something that not only has not been worked out by all the parties involved, but has not been contracted with EA to use. If EA did put in the Bowls that will be included in the playoff system and used the wrong ones that will be in real life, then you fools would be upset about that too. Then you would be upset if they did not use the bowls at all and did a home field option which has also been discussed by the NCAA Committee that made this proposal. There are so many issues not finalized and we do not even know if there will be a BCS type poll used at all in the process or just a committee. All we know is there will be a 4 team playoff, but we do not know how the committee will decide these things or where the darn games will be played. All of that would be screwed up if EA just patched this up and put it in a game.

I am convinced that people here have never heard of a contract. I guess they do not realize that they have to get a contract for all the schools, uniforms, helmets, logos, trophies and even stadiums. So when the Michigan-Notre Dame game had new uniforms, Adidas has to give permission to use their design and logos to put in the game. You cannot just throw something together and hope that the NCAA or those companies are not upset. And if they take their licensing away everyone would complain. The NCAA is already being sued now for the likenesses of players being used with just a number.

I think some of you need a job in the real world and maybe, just maybe you will get a clue. My God this has to be one of the dumbest topics and gripes I have ever read about a video game in my life.

And yet you write a book about what we are discussing? So who's the bigger fool? Yet you know what eA can and cannot do? You don't know what it says in there contract so what do you know? only thing you seem to know is holding up the EA shield for no reason at all
