Re: What Does MLB 13 The Show Need to do Next Year to Satisfy Your Baseball Gaming Ne

I just have a couple things to add (mainly for Franchise Mode) that have been in other sports games I have played.

1) I like how Madden eventually has retired players come back as coaches. It's a nice little feature. For example, after X-amount of years, Tom Brady comes back as a coach that is above average in coaching QBs and offense in general. For The Show, it would be like having Chipper Jones or Derek Jeter come back as a coach a few years after retirement and having plus ratings in some hitting attributes that could improve your team if they are on your staff in some capacity.

2) In MVP 05, I thought it was a nice touch when they added "Baseball America Top 100 Prospect" to some of the top talent in the minors. All-Star Baseball 2004 had a similar feature where you could go to a screen and see the top prospects at each position, for each team, and for the entire MLB. In the MVP franchise, it was always neat when playings a minor league game and the opposing pitcher had a "Top Prospect" icon next to his stats as he warmed up before the game, or when a hitter would come to the plate and have the Top Prospect icon above his stat line.

3) Less important but something I've always wanted since I started playing The Show back in 2006 was the ability to edit potential. I know that this is basically impossible, but if only one improvement could be made from this year's game to next year's, I'd want editable potential. I know it's likely to never happen, so I'm not too worried about this ever getting into the game.

Stop adding new features. Fix what's in the game.

- Fix progression in Franchise so ten years in the whole league isn't 30 and older - younger guys can become superstars.
- Fix trading so teams who should be in "win now" mode don't trade away superstars.
- Fix trading so teams in rebuild mode rebuild..seek A and B prospects for aging, expensive stars.
- Fix trading so rebuilding teams don't trade away their young, cheap superstars.
- Fix trading and lineups so teams don't have two or three superstars or stars at one position.
- Improve the pitcher/hitter dynamic so sometimes guys swing and miss at balls off the plate, and so pitchers have to throw out of the strike zone to work outs.

Probably mentioned but I would love more minor league teams with full roster spots. I dont want them playable..so as A ball is now. I just want more spots so you can really develop players. The draft can be longer and so on.

I would also like pitching tendencies such as Vs. RHB, Vs LHB, GB/FB % have these as attributes so you can really build different players. And some adjusting in position player attributes like speed not increasing as a skill. Have certain base attributes that can affect other specific attributes..

In franchise mode, get rid of the newspaper. It's 2012! A website similar to 2K's would be great, so you can see news from around the league and for individual teams. The franchise mode can feel like such an enclosed space at times, another team could throw a no-hitter and I'd never even know.

I LOVE photography, especially in baseball. Every time I go to a game at the Rogers Centre, I take my camera and make sure to get some photos.

What I would pay for is having a stadium-tour kind of thing, you could see the entire stadium. I'd love to see the concourses at Yankee stadium, or be a fan sitting where Bueller sat at Wrigley. Watching the baseball game on right now as well, I just saw them showing the stadium from the 500 level outfield, with a beatiful view of Harbourfront in the back ground, and I thought, "It'd be awesome if they could get the surroundings of the stadium withing maybe a kilometre or 2 (miles, for you Americans )." Also, revamped franchise with more in depth scouting and prospect development. And I'd like them to have every level of baseball for franchise and RTTS, all of them playable. Heck, maybe just buy the minors while you're at it! It'd save Knight some work, hehehe.

Retractable roofs and rain delays (c'mon this was in All Star Baseball)

MLB 2k scouting reports (But don't make us pay for them...all MLB teams in real life have scouting reports on all players)

Broadcast view is still too zoomed

Corner outfielders still play too shallow

MVP Batter's eye

A lot more Franchise stat and situational overlays

Fix the weird helmets in PIP baserunner view. It is evident with teams with light colored helmets (e.g. DBacks, Nationals, etc). Real players and unis would also be nice.

MLB 2k baserunning control system..or at least the ability to control runnners even with autobaserunning enabled

.OBP as a dedicated stat when showing stats after 1st at bat (like avg, HRs, RBIs) Every team in MLB does this..the little things. Please also replace slugging % with .OBP on jumbotrons and stat boards in stadiums. Again..no one excludes .OBP.

Live look-ins/highlights would be great in Franchise

PLEASE give option to start season with 25 man roster if you skip spring training or at least to revert back to starting 25 man if you play spring training

Weather and attendance should be based on historical info..Not sure it is..or if it is it doesn't work real well
Better field degradation..especially during rain games.

More dynamic and responsive stadium crowds..still don't get the right feel of being at ballpark. Rivalry games should have more amp'd crowd than non-rivalry games. Fans should be more excited when big name pitcher is on mound or batter is at plate...as well as big scoring opportunities.

Better distance imaging...Very hard to see stats on scoreboard because focus is on pitcher batter duel. Scoreboards are great if we can read them. For example, can't see stats on scoreboard from home plate at Orioles Park or Yankee Stadium..and I have 1080p HD monitor that is crisp.
your tv has nothing to do with not being able to clearly see the jumbotron stats..its the antiglazing idea.they want it to be harder to read cuase of the distance

I would love to see three team trades and the ability to have more than 6 players involved in one trade like possibly 5 players per team

I would like to see more equipment options like having a set of accessories for a player to wear during away games and home games.

It would also be nice to be able to use custom cameras online and to be able to export any player
