I get that EA would wanna try something new after franchise and superstar have kinda sucked the past few years, but still, I think it would've been better if they'd just strengthened the two modes rather than putting this in.

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?

I canceled my pre order today and I have never done that.

Rosters not being able to be edited in terms of equipment and not being able to play any game or every game in the schedule is downright insulting after it has been there all of its life span.

So basically Josh and EA want us to use their rosters which are not very good with equipment and not being able to have a season with friends or even you control the league instead of a team only.

So year 2 or 3 I have to see Vick in the Seahawks or fake rookies = huge turn off.

I guess I will just play the show and wait for NBA 2K13

At least they do not remove core modes that have always been there and not force feed us handcuff modes.

I'm mos def going to wait to read everything on OS re: this title up to and including the first patch cycle before making a definitive decision...

However, based on how much was removed / sacrificed with regard to us 32 team / offline franchise / sim players, I'm pretty sure I'll be passing this year...

They done gone "too far" IMHO, this time 'round...

Oh, and for perspectives sake, this would / will be the first time I passed on Madden since I bought my first console in 2002...

Very well PUT!!! I also moved aging DB's to FS.I would also Draft SS's to put them at OLB or DT's to move them to DE in my 3-4 defense. Also liked moving aged HB's to FB to get more passing yards with a West Coast offense that passes short to my RB's.

Cant do any of that with Madden 13.

DOnt you people realize If Madden 13 rules applied to the NFL that Brian Urlacher would not be the BEAST at MLB that he is today??? He'd be a safety

Hmm maybe I'm the only one, but I'm glad that the mentioned features are the ones left out.

I don't edit rosters bc I could care less about that stuff and don't have the time. I don't notice things like player equipment or get upset when a player is rated 87 rather than 89.

I don't play other games except my own because I only care about my team, plus I plan on being in an online franchise. Offline modes are a thing of the past IMO. I have't played against the "CPU" in any sports game in years.

Draft classes is a disappointment but again I don't use this feature.

What I am extremely excited about is spending XP and the fact that practice actually means something in franchise mode for the first time in a long time. yes, I'm talkin bout practice. I haven't bought madden since madden 08. For me, this is finally the year.

The game sounds like it will be fun to me. I am not into editing normally. Madden 13 sounds better then Madden 12.

Sucks BIG TIME. I mean, I spend a lot of time editing and stuff so that the game plays the way I'd like... I don't want to play the way THEY like.

I'm not saying that EA can't get this right this year...they could give us the best CPU AI ever this year.

But until i see it i won't believe it and for me personally having the ability to edit CPU players in order to make the gameplay realistic on and off the field is the #1 thing that effects my decision with Madden 13.

I've tweaked their ratings for the past few years and to me I just don't like how EA's default rosters play anymore. I can use them to a certain extent but there is always something they screw up that makes me start editing players to get better gameplay for my OWN Madden experience.

Not being able to play other big games on the schedule is also a killer...that would be like not having the NFL Ticket and only being able to watch the Cowboys play their games.

I've never said Madden 13 will be a bad game.....it's just not the way I prefer to play the game this year.
Very well said.

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?

Let me start by saying I'm an offline franchise player that gets every glove, facemask, shoe, sock, etc. on every player in my 53 man roster. I fix attributes (like bumping Larry Fitz's speed up to 90 because, lets face it, the dude ran straight downfield speeding past the likes of Polamalu and Ike Taylor ) and I change a couple players to different positions every now and then. But even with me not being able to do that stuff, this is FAR from a deal breaker for me. I spend time doing all of the previous things mentioned but I don't buy it to do that stuff. They just reworked the entire game. Sure some stuff will be hit and miss, but for the most part this is the biggest upgrade Madden has ever seen. You're crazy if you think I'll miss out on a game just because I can't edit rosters in a new mode that could end up being the start of a brand new way of playing franchise for generations.
