I guess we'll agree to disagree. I don't feel that having an individual player progress at largely the same rate in everyone's franchise regardless of all the different factors that should play a part in progression is realistic at all, which is the system we were stuck with previously.

I'll create an offensive line all with 99 speed and accelleration! If momentum is a factor in the game... POW!!!!!

Now understand this before you think it sounds like cheating (Like I did), you only get SO much XP. And from the Josh Looman connected career video you can see that for a RB, it was like 45,000 to upgrade speed at 1 POINT.And trust me, from the goals it showed, you will not get XP like that very often and if you wanna upgrade more than one player, you got to distribute the XP or you are gonna be unbalanced. Another awesome thing is that as players get older, the prices of things (Such as speed) go up so it is almost impossible to make a 30+ year old gain speed (which is realistic to say the very least). You are not gonna be able to give everyone 99 stats on things that the position is good for, such as speed for RB, QB, WR, etc. Now a O line man, his speed will be A LOT cheaper than a RB. I think this will let players run their team how THEY want and not rely on random calculations from a CPU. Also keep in mind that there are different times you can choose to progress, weekly, every four weeks, and end of the year. You can also set the CPU to progress for you but that is no fun, now is it? This gives you a feeling of accomplishment for great play. Also already said that if it says to get 2,000 yards rushing for a season to get lets say 25,000 XP(random number, idk what you'd really get) and a user "Pads his stats" and gets 6,000 yards, well they only get 25,000 xp not anymore so stat padding is pointless. Hope that answers that

2) No idea.. lol

3) Yes if you are fired, Looman said you can recreate a coach, or join as a Legend coach, and take over the team you were fired from.

So I just can't take a team anyone and play multiple franchises? I have to create a coach or player to do this?

Are the hiring and firing of your staff gone?

I just want the previous way where I can play with a team as long as I want and can control all aspects of franchise.

@thrust good luck with that since it would take longer than the linemans entire career to just raise speed to 99

Same here. The more I read and think about it, this is a feature that might blow up in their face. It's the reason than "franchise is dead" and that's a quote from Josh Looman.

I'm really getting worried about the future of Madden. It's been on thin is for awhile but the options they have removed might just send them into the water.

Madden will be fine, Madden 13 will outsell any Madden in the past 3 years. They are just getting started with this new development team and once people get their hands on Connected Careers I think they will be happy to give a few features for the benefit of the new ones.

As a coach it's just like the old offline Franchise except for being able to play as other teams. Josh Looman said this last week, playing as a coach is the same as the old offline franchise minus fantasy draft and playing as other teams. The reason you can't do those two things any more is because those are not realistic features and never should have been a part of Franchise to begin with.
