Ok, I'll take the bait.

1. The "messy(?)" physics engine, despite a few minor missteps I've seen here and there in the E3 vids, looks like it's giving us the most realistic contact & tackling results in the history of the franchise.

2. Variable pass trajectories is a big one for me, as I've been bitten many times by a dump-off pass in the face of a blitz either resulting in a bullet pass off my RBs helmet or a floater landing out of bounds.

3. The game just continues to look more fantastic every year. The field finally looks like a football field, without the random "oil spills" of years past. The HDR lighting is actually a quietly big thing for me since I like to document my franchise on here, as in the past the shadows made my game pics for night or overcast games come out too dark. Not to mention the new broadcast elements, absolutely love that the entire starting lineup is shown now for example. The little things like that I find endearing.

4a. They removed the UDFAs and now allow editing of the accelerated clock within CCM - these were the main barriers preventing me from a long-running M12 franchise.

4b. The improvements to scouting, AI via team-specific overalls and schemes, storylines and the overall life and presentation of the career mode will allow me to be more immersed than ever. I've had to create storylines myself in prior years in order to hold my interest in such a bland mode; it's about time the game does some of that for me.

These are all major improvements for me, I could list more but these are some of the core aspects that appeal to me. Sure, I'd like to have the ability to edit numbers and equipment if I so choose, and wouldn't mind having the other stuff added back in, but for me there is a lot to be excited about with M13 that I can overlook some of the minor things I'm losing out on. But I understand they're not minor for everyone.

Edited to add: also the removal of the old progression system is a big improvement for me.

Have we even seen video on how these storylines work?? Why are ppl so sold on that...you dont even know how immersive they are...they could just be some bland redundant storylines...

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Its funny that this is exactly the sort of thing I have come to expect from EA, and specifically Madden. Its even funnier that the fanboys act like its no big deal and think it will be the greatest Madden yet. Because Madden has proven that their new features always work as advertised.....riiiiiiight. I used to be a loyal Madden fanboy years ago when they were making great games on the last gen consoles. Oh how times have changed.

I'm praying for the day that EA loses their exclusive license, or at least the day that they hire a team of devs with a lick of sense.

If not being affected or devastated by things not in the game makes me a fanboy, then I guess I'm a fanboy.

The link in this post has a couple screenshots, although I'm hoping some of the names are debugging text, like Looman has referred to about a lot of the screens they've shown lol

If it doesn't bother you and you're truly excited about the game and actually expect EA to deliver on all the hype, I'm happy for you. If all the new features actually work like we hope, great. Time will tell. But you can't honestly tell me that stuff like this is excusable in any way, shape, or form. Sorry but I'm tired of Madden's BS. I still hold the game to a high standard, as crazy as that sounds nowadays.
