Re: NCAA Football 13 Demo Is Out, Post Your Impressions Here

To be honest, this demo is the game we should have had with ncaa 12. I did like some aspects of the demo, it played smoother, overall it just felt a little more polished then last year. But it just felt like I was playing a game that is outdated. The engine is at its limit, the presentation is pathetic for a game made in 2012. No highlights, same intros same monotone commentary. Theyre touting better passing mechanics when nfl 2k5 had maximum passing. This game is sorely lacking. Is it worth getting even at $45? No. I saw ncaa12 for $16 on amazon, I think someone would be better off getting 12. I just didnt see enough there to give away money. Most people will get bored with it quickly or when madden comes out.

Pros: espn ticker is nice
the in studio updates are nice
smoother gameplay

Cons: Nothing really groundbreaking or new
Rece Davis
still has some psy db's
commentary
boring

Re: NCAA Football 13 Demo Is Out, Post Your Impressions Here

I played a few games last night and I must be playing a different demo than the last 7 pages of people here have been. It MOST DEFINITELY DOES NOT play like NCAA '12 did imo. It might look similar, but it's not the same game. The DEMO is more polished, the players feel like they actually have weight to them and seem smarter on the field. I had a broken HB Draw last night where the hole closed up, I turned to the other side of the field, jumped over a fallen defender, actually had a WR block for me, then ran it 15 yards into the endzone. The play actually made me say "wow, that was sweet" out loud. That didn't happen in '12. If a hole closed up on a Draw, then there were 5 defenders in the backfield ready to destroy you.

It doesn't feel like NCAA 12.5 to me, not even 12.75 because I don't think even 5 patches could have gotten 12 to play like this. There are just too many different things going on that make it feel like an entirely new game. I'm going to have a ton of fun playing it this year.

YESSSSS!!! I CAN FINALLY THROW OVER TOP OF THE LINEBACKERS AND IN FRONT OF THE SAFETIES!!

The passing game is a thing of beauty now with these new trajectories. I feel like Joe Montana chilling back in the pocket with my fillet knife carving up the defense!

HB SCREENS ARE FINALLY RAN PROPERLY!!! You actully hit the RB in stride!

The studio updates are cool but get old pretty quick due to Reece Davis sounding like well exactly like he's just reading lines off paper. Doesn't feel alive at all.

Bottom line ticker is GREAT!! Especially since got the priority score alerts and upset alerts as well! This will come in handy when it gets late in the season when conferance championship bids are on the line.

Heisman Challange showed me that playing with a 100 rated player is fun for a minute but gets old real quick at least on the difficulty that comes with the demo. I was 28 of 40 for 585 3td and 2 picks with RGIII.

Spread Option seems to still broken for the CPU. I was playing against Oregon but didn't feel like they were the DUCKS. Maybe it was just the difficulty level.

Overall I really liked the demo. I think once you find a good slider set and the roster makers due their thing this game will be a BEAST!

The game is the exact same gameplay wise outside of the passing, which is actually really good.

Sitting this one out. I'll pick up Madden new instead, and buy NCAA used. No money for a half effort, EA.

With sliders, I think the CPU is going to be a lot more competitive than usual. I've already seen more aggressive defense, less dropped INT's, decent pass rush, and some decent option play that will only get better as we change the sliders.

All of this without taking one snap of Madden. Impressive.
