Re: NCAA Football 13 Demo Is Out, Post Your Impressions Here

I thought it was exactly the same as '12, but with studio updates and a new ticker. I went out and bought '12 used today and decided to skip this year's NCAA Football. I'm really sick of buying the same game for $60 each year and refuse to do it again. I very well may do the same with Madden, depending on what I think of the demo.

I'm one of those dudes who has bought both games new every year since Madden and Bill Walsh College Football started.

Same here bro.. i actully regret trading both of mine in about 3 weeks ago, thinkng Ncaa and Madden would be connected. But no Draft classes kills Ncaa 13 for me even more

I agree with the posters who said why not wait for this " With physics you can feel, Madden NFL 13 delivers revolutionary gameplay in the '013 edition of EA Sports' football franchise. Powered by the all-new Infinity Engine, true player impact and authentic momentum transfer ensure that no two plays ever look or feel the same. Madden NFL 13 revolutionizes the way sports video game career modes are played with Connected Careers—a completely new and fully connected universe defined by deep gameplay, unique storylines and social integration. The game continues to evolve the sport sim experience with cutting-edge Infinity Engine technology, revolutionary Connected Careers and a complete audio and visual overhaul that delivers best in class presentation." Except of course it will be NCAA 14.

Played it a bit more.. still feels like NCAA 12 or 12.5.

Reece Davis sounds meh. It almost never sounds natural, and I cringe on some of the stuff it is spliced together so badly.

The new passing is different, but it isn't a gamechanger maybe with the Madden QB ratings it would be.

Super linebackers and psychic dbs aren't around as often anymore, but that is hardly enough for me to spend money on.

The stadium sounds louder, but the atmosphere is still meh.

Not too impressed, personally and Heisman mode just makes me angry every time I think about it when compared to what Madden got.

I agree that ratings are grossly inflated and have been trending that way for a while, but it may be a bit of a blessing in some ways. It'll open up online a little bit since there are more teams that people will play rated up at the top.

For dynasty I'll be using named/rerated rosters anyway so that isn't so bad.

Yes I'd rather have more differentiation and accuracy in ratings (as in no team above about a 90 out of box) but there are a few positives.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Demo Is Out, Post Your Impressions Here

This demo so far runs a lot smoother than 12 IMO. And I guess I'm in the minority, but I am still seeing some super LB's. I first saw them while playing Bama vs LSU so I thought "Ok maybe if I play K State and Baylor I won't see them as often." Well I still saw some. I was Baylor and my slot receiver was running a post down the field. Before I snapped the ball I saw a LB was covering him so I thought he could get open. The D called man coverage and the LB ran stride for stride with the WR the whole time but the WR had a little separation coming off his break from the post route. I led the receiver when I threw it and it looked like there was no way the LB could even touch it. It looked like the only person that was gonna catch it was my WR. Guessed wrong. The LB gets a magical boost and picks the ball off without even turning his head to see where the ball was.

Besides the common CPU option mishap and the super LB's, this game really isn't that bad. Yes the QB's completion % needs to be fixed and maybe Rece's voice, but this isn't too bad. There will never be a perfect game that comes out so we have to sometimes live with what we have.

By the way, I can't see the ESPN ticker on the very bottom when I play the demo. Anyone else have this problem?

Re: NCAA Football 13 Demo Is Out, Post Your Impressions Here

A couple of things i noticed after a few games

Line play didnt look better but it seemed better, i did not see a ton of pancakes. also when Olinemen get beat on a pass rush they actually make an attempt to get back in the play which makes moving in the pocket more realistic

Its very cool to see WRs waving their hands for the ball when they are open during a scramble

Passing seems a bit too easy, this might be because i was using RG3 and Zack Mettenburger, but they could use a bit more inaccuracy.

Running seemed pretty good but i didnt run much to test out the passing game. AI running seems vastly improved.

The bullet time mechanic will take some getting used to. On several occasions during a pass i threw into coverage because i didnt fully assess how much space my WR had for real time movement.

Pulling gaurds are a little better but it may be placebo affect.

Momentum is slighty present which is great.

One really cool thing i noticed in Heisman mode is that coaches will pull back on your "trust" if you screw up. I threw a redzone TD and after that i was not allowed to pick any other plays except the ones given to me. Cool.

Overall, i am definitely buying day one.
