Video I posted describes exactly whats wrong with madden today and the blocking schemes involved. But people on here say to use slide protection or whatnot to counter some of these things when you see it happening, but this is 6 against 2!

Any explanation on to why this goes on, you already know where it came from but im just wanting to know is this something that has been brought to EA's attention?

The guy who posted also said he had been labbing this for a while and still is trying to make it 100% more effective than it is. Whats the point in practicing something like if you know good and damn well this is not for single player?

i look at that and I see that being a you problem and not a me problem within the game. does it need to be fixed? absolutely.

lets lock into a game sometime soon and I want you to literally try and run into my receivers every play and I want to see howbig a problem it causes. would that be cool? I know thats not the "point" and I understand where you guys are coming from on that.

but you gotta remember the way I look the game is that Im not going to stand there and just do nothing and complain about the problems at hand. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. If you click on tot he receiver you can do a little wiggle and get around it.

so in recap.

1. I didnt see much contact to where I thought THIS IS GAME BREAKING
2. Wont happen every play, just wont. Its an exaggeration and a crutch to lean on.
3. Do something about it to fix the situation at hand that you currently have to deal with, or complain about it.

I'm far more concerned about being honest and respectful than worrying about what is or isn't "sim", though I enforce TSO's community standards as much as anyone. To me, "sim" isn't the underlying tenet of TSO as much as being able to find a league/experience that mimics how you want to play. The only reason we don't have more "freestyle" leagues is we don't have a way to group people appropriately.
see i love this response - this is what it is right here.

its not sim, its not freestyle, its about madden players finding madden players to play games with.

Thats not allowed in tourneys anyway so thats not a tourney players tactic.

But you know WHY that is possible.....Because EA trying to take out the "nano" as sim players say....They made the OL react way more heavily towards defenders who are told to rush

(as in have the rush/blitz play assignment...playmakered or not)

And in doing that they made the OL pretty oblivious towards players in other play assignments manually rushing..

And BTW smoke that was brought to EA's attention Early M12 as well as in M11

You know.....that derives from players testing out what works in the years before

But I guess the players are at fault AGAIN?

Re: Madden NFL 13 Video Interview - EA Tiburon Breaks Down Some of the New Changes

Why is it that ONLY IN MADDEN the player is blamed more than the developer?

You dont hear street fighter 2 players blaming players for the haduken trap

You dont hear COD players blaming other players for the drop shots..They say its wack but they dont blame the player

You dont hear 2K basketball players blame the players and not the developers for the old animations where you could drive and be almost guaranteed a basket or a foul ...
(not sure if its in this yrs game but sure about last yr)
ANd im pretty sure thats more gamebreaking than anything that has been in madden since 2008.

Why is it in madden that players get blame over developers?

Just curious

Re: Madden NFL 13 Video Interview - EA Tiburon Breaks Down Some of the New Changes

At this point I hope the mods come and lock this thread up. It just seems to be nothing but a bunch of tourney guys talking complete nonsense and pushing an agenda at this point. For the most part, the OS community leans more towards the "sim" direction, meaning we don't do BS stuff like nanos, shake blitzes or abuse glitches, regardless of whether or not it's the developers fault for them being in the game. Far be it for me to tell anyone: "You're not welcome here" because I don't run this forum and it isn't my place to say that, but all you freestyle guys have your own forums where you can discuss your style of play around like-minded people, so why come here on OS and derail a thread to argue with people who don't share your same views? It makes no sense whatsoever to me. At first it seemed like sgibs7 was actually trying to understand our point of view, but now this whole thread has turned into how "tourney" style players are the Mike Martz's and Buddy Ryan's of the Madden world and "sim" guys suck, refuse to adjust and don't know strategy. I have said it before and I will say it again, you guys are NOT Buddy Ryan and Mike Martz with your BS exploits, glitches and "shake blitz" tactics that aren't even possible in real life. Period. And please don't ever think that you are anywhere close to being real "strategists" like those guys are/were. I really can't stress that last sentence enough. Seriously. Please do NOT take your success using BS tactics, glitches and exploits in Madden as anything other than exactly that.

You guys can continue arguing, but I am not debating the topic anymore. I just wanted to say my peace and then let you guys continue doing whatever you choose.

Why is it in madden that players get blame over developers? The issues that are more in your control like turbo blitzing, shake glitching, and all that other stuff is in your hands until the devs do something about it. I never seen the shake glitch until this year out of over 20yrs of playing madden. Then once its taken out and replaced with something dumb, then your community blames us for crying about it and you end up finding something else to exploit to your advantage.

Just curious
Once again, you guys dont even try to play the game the way it was intended and going by that thread I linked to on your site is all the proof one needs here.

But going off of what you are saying is that if EA does nothing to fix them, then its OK to use them. But how so if some of you guys go to these community days? Do you not ask why they havent addressed these issues and let them linger for so long as they do?

Why not you guys adapt to playing football instead of cheese ball?

I know its just a game and all but its gives us the immersion that people seek when playing games or whatever it is they do during their free time. Its still someone hard work and effort you are destroying when you play the game the way you do. But let me show everyone how you guys dont mean what you say about playing exploit free ball. Its not just about playing in tournaments, these are the every day free pick up games people would love to play when they come home from work or whatever. So just let me know if you do not agree with this quote from someone on your very forums you came in to protect...

Smoke, I think your time would be better spent at OS and agreeing with those guys than arguing with us over here. As long as Madden is a video game, there will be glitches and exploits. All computer programs have them. If you'd rather have games played to your specifications, then simply separate yourself from this community and find like-minded gamers rather than pointing and bitching at us. In the end we (the tournament community) does not care and will use whatever advantages are found or presented to us. There are rules prohibiting outright glitches in tournaments and this is not a "do what you want" willy-nilly community. When money is involved, you've gotta be prepared to see things that you don't "see every Sunday". That mindset has permeated throughout the tournament community.
Again, if you want the game played in a way that you're comfortable with, find like-minded gamers so you can play that way. I really think your time is better spent at OS.

In short, leave.
