Madden NFL 13 Videos - ESPN Mark Schlereth Talks Presentation and Gameplay

Well here's my two cents. I think Madden looks better and better each year as a video game. But seems to look worse and worse each year as a realistic representation of a sport.

And by that I mean it seems the colors are more cartoonish, the players move more and more like videogame characters without any weight or momentum and the field seems to more and more resemble a pool table as someone mentioned.

It looks overall like it's becoming "Mario'ized" and that score banner doesn't help things any.

With that being said I still look forward to playing it because while it may become more and more unrealistic going in this direction it could also end up being quite a fun game to play. I mean Mario is fun after all and it's not a realistic representation of an Italian plumber trying to rescue a Princess.

When will they learn that the whole "EA Sports" presentation just doesnt work. We need CBS/ESPN/FOX. That would take the presentation to a whole different level.

They will never go that route because that requires them having an agreement with a network. Even if one is in place currently there's not a guarantee it will be in the future. That's why they are bound determined to create their own presentation.

Don't really know how I feel about the POV in this post but I liked the bold and the hilarious "sim" visual I painted in my head for it. lol

I can understand that. But I feel like if they can get an exclusive agreement with the NFL, then they can get an agreement with the networks. They are the sole NFL game right now and could easily take advantage of it but yet with the lack of improvement, gamers are left to wonder what it would be like with competition.

I thought last years score bug was great. It was sleek and not clunky like this year's. Wonder if they can adjust it.

Can't agree with this. I just think they lack the vision and or execution. Network license wouldn't improve this. Looks much better this year though.

I think what they are doing this year with the different presentation package for each type of game is great but it needs more little extras. EA/Tiburon is good for going grand scale like NFL camera angles, Avatar camera tech, etc but can often overlook small details.

This is one of my favorite threads about Madden presentation and if instituted would be the perfect compliment to the new presentation elements they have already unveiled.
