there's a difference between reading the play and mirroring the WR. If i'm a DB running and looking at the WR, i'm not going to be breaking at the exact moment the WR does at the exact same type of angle. You either jump the play and break before the WR or you read the WR and break slightly after even if it's half a step after, you aren't going to break at the same time, the same way, the same angle.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Video - No More Psychic DB's, 25 Different Pass Trajectory Zones

theres a noticable difference in those clips, not quite sure how some people cant see it.

My question is with these changes that will make the pass game more realistic, when we get good at this new system, will it be the same thing as last year where it really doesnt matter that much which quarterback we use we can still get the same production?

Has the difference between quarterbacks been changed at all? Because in NCAA 12, there was none.

the differences were in the running throwing motions and the catching. The normal QB throwing motion is still awful, and like i showed in an earlier post it resembles Tim Tebow's throwing motion with the high leg kick as he's throwing almost like a pitcher in baseball when a QB normall lifts their back leg a little bit off the ground on the follow through and even then it stays behind their body. They say psychic DBs are gone and then show a clip where there's psychic DBs.

So the differences in that video are not that glaring.

And this is what i meant with the throwing motions, i posted a couple more vids a few pages back but this one shows you that the throwing motion in NCAA looks like a Tim Tebow throwing motion, the one guy you should never base your throwing motion off of considering it's one of things he's most criticized for. Notice Brady's back leg comes off the ground a little bit, Tebow's got the high leg kick which Phil Simms even points out as a negative but yet that's the standard in the NCAA video game.

I wouldn't be surprised if they mo-capped Tebow when he was on the cover a couple years ago but the motion hasn't looked good for a while now.

Trade in credit is a rip-off also.

I'm trying to understand how grown men (not you specifically) behave as though the world will end if they're not one the first to play the game so they can post their impressions.

Just don't get it at all, especially knowing the history of the game has always required a patch or two after release.

I know some say they will trade it in for Madden, but when has Madden ever been worth $120

I'll wait to get my hands on a rental.
There are still a couple of Blockbusters within 15 min drive from me.
I feel where you coming from but for me, whether I buy the game day 1 or day 101, I still can't judge the game for myself, based solely on the impressions of others and videos. I am strictly an online player, I don't play offline against the CPU, so to test the game the way I play, requires online access to the game.

I am not that concerned with EA's bottom line, I am doing it that way to insure myself from potentially having to keep a $60+ game, I don't enjoy.

Madden on last gen had different running motions for players, Madden on this gen has had different throwing motions for players... NCAA is yet to implement either one.

The frustration comes from them moving on to the next new thing and not making enough improvements to the things already in the game, especially gameplay. They are so focused on adding a new feature each year so they have something to put on the box instead of making sure the game itself is the best it can be. And then they add a new feature and don't improve it, custom stadium sounds, teambuilder, etc. I wonder if they even bothered fixing Coaching Carousel or if just adding it in is enough for them because they think just by adding it they satisfied us.

And then i lose more faith when the videos they pick out, after all this time of developing the game, are so ugly and in this case they talk about something being gone from the game and they show a video with it still in there! Amazing
Complaining about throwing motions to me is like complaining you don't have different cleats to pick from in an update to the running game. It's mostly cosmetic with few nuances and exceptions, and the much bigger problems that need to be solved exist after the QB releases, not what he looks like while he throws the ball. Unless the affects of different throwing motions are a going to be factored into the pass (length of delivery, limited trajectories for some deliveries) then I don't see the point right now.
