He gets paid to promote the game to ANYONE that is interested in 2k Sports titles, NOT just fans of NBA 2k. Some of you seem to forget they sell other titles as well. Heck, there are baseball fans who are going to buy the 2 pack of MLB and NBA together - it's the same exact thing.
You really think non-NBA fans are following Ronnie's twitter?

The baseball pack is what it is. A desperation move. And anyone that has NBA buys it can just sell it and keep MLB.

2k's marketing and community support is terrible.

wow just wow, after the freezing problems they recently had they go out and announce this? EA might be picking a good year to get back in the NBA game because a lot of people are upset at the issues with 2k this year and the empty promises about being able to update the look of the players.

Pared.........I don't know what to say bro. If you can't see how a PR guy saying "there's a BIG surprise coming" doesn't raise expectations........then, seriously man, I honestly don't know what to say............

To put it simply.........the Knicks say "we have a BIG announcement coming".....................and then release the news that "guard Bill Walker has been extended for three years"................you wouldn't call that misleading PR?

The thought of Lucy repeatedly pulling the football away from Charlie Brown comes to mind.

Of the many big announcements that have been made this year, how many have you felt were truly big announcements or turned out to be big announcements? I haven't seen all of your posts, but you've indicated how disappointed you've been with their support, their roster efforts, etc. Even in this very thread. I'm not sure why you'd all of a sudden choose to believe this was the big one that would pan out the way you want it to. That is unless you want to raise your hopes so that if/when you're disappointed you can complain. I just don't see how you can have it both ways - how can you say they've continuously disappointed you this year, but continue to raise your hopes every time there's a tweet saying something big is coming? I haven't seen the tweet, so I don't know how it misleading it may have been worded. But I've read plenty of complaints on this board from people complaining about Ronnie overhyping things that turned out to not be hype-worthy. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...

My expectations are zero man..........and that's a bad thing. If Ronnie 2K tweets "huge news coming!", it would create zero response now. If he tweets "massive roster update coming"...i'd honestly expect maybe a new pair of socks and two guys jump shots changed.

Just because we all know he's full of crap by now doesn't mean we shouldn't criticise him.....it's not "fool me once.......", it's "hey, how about you guys treat your customers as adults and actually start addressing what people are asking.......". That's all.

As I've said before, the community support for this game post release has been outstanding on the consoles and out of this world good on the PC.

2K's "effort" though has been half hearted at best....I know you and Pared don't see it that way.....

Just don't "hype" features if you are not going to deliver them. Don't say "hey, we will have art updates! If Dirk cuts his hair, it will be in the game"............and then not do it. Don't say stuff like "we know even the 12th man on a roster is important to some fans and maybe that 12th man is someone's favourite player, that's why we give every player the same attention to detail!"...............i mean, this stuff is just flat out not true.

I don't know if you have the PC version bro...but, if you do, go and load all the mods and load Alby's latest roster.......look at the incredible attention to detail, the almost perfect rosters, gear, accessories, play books, depth charts etc....then think "hey, this is ONE guy who did this for FREE"........and then think "how come a multi million dollar company that I paid $60 to for the game can't match a guy releasing a free roster?".

I am not in any way angry about this...i am loving the game on the PC.

Go and load the PC version and you'll see just how big a difference a bit of genuine effort makes to the game with rosters and stuff. IMO 2K's effort on the consoles with rosters and art updates has been "weak".

I think the idea is to capitalize on some of the groundswell of love the NBA is starting to get back from the fans by introducing this deal.

That's my thought anyways...
Ignoring PC and Wii (which weren't pushed much this year), new-gen sales of 2K12 will hit 2K11 sales. They're not far off now, with many months of sales to go.
