You are absolutely correct about the line. The are blitz reading, pancaking machines.

For me, its 3 things: the super linebackers, players playing like their ratings and the fact that the CPU defensive line throws away ur Oline as soon as the ball is handed off. Those actions are clearly linked and its a joke.

I remember last years promises from Haumiller saying suction blocking was removed, weight and size determines tackles and a new tackling engine. What a joke. Now people have noticed a small fry tackling high power RBs and how bad the lines are. I noticed that before the game launched. There is still suction blocking, and imo games in the passed had less phycic defenders in the passed. EA fire Haumiller and the team and bring in a competent team that really knows football.

Has anybody else ever noticed that on some broken tackles the defense still completes the tackling animation with their arms wrapped around an invisible person? They should fix that...

I don't think the team gets enough credit for removing alot of suction from this years title.

Great article, great read but lets face it none of these things can be address unless EA decides to take a year of both Franchies (Madden and Ncaa Football) because there simply isn't enough time for them to make all the necessary changes and fixes in one calendar year. This is my opinion but what i think they should do is create the mother of all patches with new rosters for the upcoming season for a nominal fee and focus on spend one part of the year either developing a new engine for their games or rebuild the one they have from the ground up that will last the rest of this current gaming generation (similar to what they did with Madden when the ps2 came out. They then should spend the second year trouble shooting, to help with this they can get feed back for a small group gaming community by inviting some reps from differnt sites like OS to help with the beta testing and give honest feed back on the gameplay maybe some of the mods can help with this by suggesting some of the more dedicated players base on their post they could create a criteria figure out who would best fit this need. I think it would go along way toward helping EA get on track with the current gen.

Well, I think most people are referring to when defensive players are clearly running in a certain direction or angle and suddenly that direction/angle is reduced/nullified/changed/taken-away by a blocker. There is not one natural interaction between players in this game and it's the #1 killer to the game.
