Not to mention, how many people get annoyed when they try to catch a pass 1 handed, and totally fail at it. Have you ever seen in Madden where a WR jumps to the ground, and you're not sure whether or not he maintained possession through the catch because it might've hit the ground? No of course not! The only thing in Madden is like a jump ball with a CB. The QB can't just throw a pass to where the CB can't make a play on it. This is also due to sliding where anyone can go anywhere on the field in a matter of seconds. If they actually planted their feet this would immensely help. It's just a combination of things that make passing and catching feel bland and unrealistic.
Huh?

Usually I know what people are talking about, but this time you have baffled me because there are WR's that jump. Throw a Fade inside the 10. Your WR will jump for the ball. Throw a high pass to a stationary receiver and he jumps. Conversely, if you throw the ball low the receiver will go down to get it.

Also, sliding all over the field in a matter of seconds? Huh? I've never seen a player slide more than 2-yards in any direction and even then it's once or twice a game MAX.

That said, I never touch sliders for any reason. I play the game as the devs intended without tinkering with the internal logic using the thousands of possible slider combinations that interfere with how the game ships.

Commentary.... All players have names use them ! I want to hear the players name who made the catch, made the tackle, got the sack and how many yards gained/lost etc... on every play. Listen to a real broadcast then replicate .

Ok, I will try and explain it better. WR's can jump vertically, but they can't outstretch their arms if throw is towards the sideline. Also, there is no fighting for position. There's no leverage or anything. All it is, is like I said before: a jump ball with no contact between the WR or DB. There's no fighting to get into position. It's either you jump infront or behind, but there isn't a battle. I have seen before plays where my WR should have made the catch but the DB slides forward with footplanting and gets there a few seconds earlier.

When have you ever seen a play like this in Madden?

well we all know how it's going to go anyway, EA will add and fix a couple things, to make us want to try the game, The key is next gen coming, EA will start on the next gen, and it will take us another 6 years asking for a better Madden, And bang the next gen after that will be here, An EA will suck another ton's of 100's of dollars from us, getting Richer an making us play the same ole crap as before just a little prettier is all....So i do not have high hopes for Madden 13 and/or Any of the next 3 gen Maddens, cause we all know how Suck you dry EA is going to do it............

Gotcha! And I agree that players don't lay out horizontally for passes and it would be a very nice addition that we'd all notice immediately.

While there isn't any hand fighting, there is a ton of fighting for position because only one player that can come down with the ball. That said, when two players who manually catch and defend square off, the football looks much more organic than if two players let the CPU catch and defend.

Thanks for the vid... Troy Polomalu is one of my favorite players to watch.

Ok... I'm done. I'll return to censoring my posts once again. Thanks for letting me let off steam.

I actually read that entire "spoiler" and even though I think it seemed well thought out, it had very little to do with my post, imo.

EA giving gamers a general idea of how Madden mechanics work and leaving the rest on them, is like football only having coaches, coordinators, trainers and other support staff until reaching the pros. They are professionals after all, so they should know exactly what they are doing by then, right? Of course not and ditto for EA not offering support for how the football in Madden is designed to be played.

Wanting that has absolutely nothing to do with people being soft, whiners, bad Madden players or whatever because personally, I am neither and can win, have won, my fair share with the game as it is now. However, I don't enjoy winning, losing or even playing something that I feel doesn't present an enjoyable cohesive and in Madden's case, NFL "sim", challenge.
