^ Actually getting pre-orders from GameStop does come at a cost. $10 to be excact because I can get this game on Amazon with a $10 promo credit. I'd much rather have the option of clicking on a button

So by what you are saying is I should go "create a fake" account because it takes "2 mins"??? I need to go do this just to get Overeem and you don't see that as a issue BECAUSE you have facebook. Plus you see no problem doing it, so it is easy to say the things you are. But from my stance, I am not going create a fake account just for the sake of getting a fighter.

I will also agree, you will have him and I won't. That sounds really EXCELLENT (sarcasm) for me, my dad who does not have facebook, and another buddy of mine who is getting the game that does not have facebook also. Sounds like a really great idea in my book

Bottom line, you feel as if it is "no big deal" because you have a account and it is nothing to click "like". I don't have one and don't want to create a fake one just to get the character. Next thing you know I am going to have to create fake accounts for numerous different games that follow this same mantra. It is a bad situation for us NON-Social networking people. You have your beliefs on the topic and I have mine is I guess end of story.
Actually, I am paying for the Gamestop fighters. I have Amazon credit that I could use towards the game. I also can guarantee you that the game will be cheaper at places like Buy.com release day. So I'm paying more than I'd have to get 4 (not 1 like Overeem) fighters. The Facebook thing costs you nothing at all so I don't why you even brought up cost.

Also, please don't put words in my mouth. It wouldn't be a big deal to me even if I didn't have Facebook. I would do exactly as I suggested. I would create a fake FB account. It takes 2 minutes. If I was anti social media immediately after I created the account and liked the THQ page, I would delete the FB page. Deleting it takes less than 30 seconds. **** its a fake page so as long as you don't have any personal info posted on it, you don't even have to delete it.

So what you are saying is that you won't commit less than 3 minutes to get Overeem. If thats the case, than more power to you. I just don't see what the big deal is when it costs you nothing but 3 minutes of your time.

I assume you have an email account, right? This is practically the same thing as THQ asking you to provide your email address to get Overeem.

I don't think anyone touched on the people that won't even know about this. They'll walk into Wal-mart or Best Buy come home with the game and it's missing the possible soon to be HW and WW champs which yet again just makes them look like even bigger clowns then they already do.

More likely than not, Overeem will be greyed out but visible in every game (like the Rock is in WWE12 or the TUF fighters from 2010). So most inquiring minds will see he is there, google it and then download him. Regarding the Contenders pack, that does suck for people who don't know about the Gamestop deal. That part sucks for them and thats another reason why I hate the Gamestop deal.

You are missing the point Aholbert. You keep touching on the "time" factor. It is nothing about the time it takes, I have enough time to type this message and would easily have enough time to go create a fake account if I desired. I just don't feel that I should be forced to go that route if I would like Overeem.

Basically lets say hypothetically, I am a standard customer. I walk into bestbuy, walmart, target, gamestop, or some other big box store and purchase the game. I get home and see people online with Overeem........how???

There will be thousands and thousands that have no idea about the Overeem facebook deal, there will be many that don't have facebook also that miss out on him. It is this trend of "social networking" benefits that concern me.

Next thing you know I will have to click like on facebook to get a new side quest mission in GTV V or click like to get a new weapon in Mass Effect 3. So now I will miss out on these items in gaming because of everything being integrated with this social media trend.

For me it is more a dislike with the growing nature of everything going to social media. I can dodge it by not having a facebook and it not affecting me. But when I spend the same money as you on a game and yet you get more fighters than me because you "clicked a like button", it is frustrating. As a supporter of Yukes and Undisputed, I am upset by this decision because I will lose out on a fighter I would like to have.

Now I also wasn't putting "words in your mouth". Your stance on the topic has been "create a fake account, it only takes couple min". I just paraphrased the post.

Lastly, there is no point going round and round about it. You are ok with it and will do what you gotta do to get the fighter, I don't believe in this route and have said my point of view on it.

Re: UFC Undisputed 3 Video - How to Unlock Alistair Overeem

My issue with you is that you have a problem with the FB thing. Its that you fail to see that the Gamestop thing is much worse than the FB thing.

Using your example: You get online and see people have Overeem. You say "how did they get Overeem?" You google it and discover you have to like a FB page to get it. You create a (fake or real) account and you get Overeem. It costs you nothing.

With Gamestop: You get online and see people have Nick Diaz. You say "How did they get Diaz?" You google it and find out only people who purchased the game from Gamestop get the 4 fighters. You either have to spend 60 more bucks to get the game from GS or wait a few months and purchase them as DLC. Either way you are spending money to get the 4 fighters.

Which one is worse?

Regarding your social media beef, your are only participating if you actually participate. Creating a fake FB account with a fake name and no personal information isnt really being "integrated with social media"? Creating a FB account and immediately deleting it isnt participating either.

Re: UFC Undisputed 3 Video - How to Unlock Alistair Overeem

I personally hate all the promo crap they do. I feel like the most they should do is a preorder fighter that is available to all retailers so people can get it where they please and not lose out on anything. you get a bonus for a preorder... seems simple and reasonable enough.

What i dont like is the direction gamers are allowing this to go. I dont care how easy it is to like this on fb, we shouldnt be doing it just so they can show advertisers they get this many views now give us more money to stay a sponser. If they said "if we get a million likes then the dlc is free for eveyone" i would be all for something like this. the company makes money and the consumer benefits. right now all we are looking at are games being rushed out the door and times unplayable till a patch yet they offer less and less with the games so they can charge us for dlc.
Its not about liking this on fb... it is about what they are asking us to do at this point. Many view it as no big deal others dont like where the direction is heading.I will say over time, we have seen more than enough examples (first dlc, now "online passses", where to next....). They are looking for more ways to charge us all the time and i dont like that we just do what they ask leading them to start charging for new stuff.
sent this from my phone so please excuse how the post looks.

Re: UFC Undisputed 3 Video - How to Unlock Alistair Overeem

yes the post looks terrible, sorry about that.

One more point... I dont want to hear anyone saying more money from advertising leading to a better game because we should all know it will lead to "bonuses" for employees. Madden makes tons of money but we all know it doesnt get back into the game.
