Re: Update 1.04 is out

Maybe cause I don't have high expectations for the game, BUT I think the game is a lot of fun to play.

I do notice that my team and the CPU generally avg 1 penalty each throughout the game though

Can't wait for matt's roster update tomorrow so I can lead the Jets to the cup

Re: Update 1.04 is out

What's different about "matt's" roster than the updated ones the game puts out?

Just more updated, or does he do ratings as well?

This is key to enjoying sports games in general these days. As long as you're not looking for more realism than fun, then the game is for you. As soon as you start disecting the game, as many do (myself included), you take the enjoyment right out of it. The game can be alot of fun, as long as you play it without thinking.

Re: Update 1.04 is out

Call this a weird occurrence but in my last game against Minnesota, their goalie Backstrom, with none of my players near him as I was making a line change, actually fired the puck up ice out of his zone in an attempt to start a breakaway. The puck actually went past his own blue line. It was one of those things where I had to pause the game and replay it like 4 or 5 times to make sure it was what I saw.
There are also a lot more loose puck scrambles around the goals, leading to some hectic moments late in games. I've seen a lot of garbage goals in the handful of games I've played today.
CPU also seems to pass the puck to open ice a little more than before, and my CPU controlled teammates also seem to play better positional defense.
While there could still be more penalties called I do like what this new update has done for the game.

Re: Update 1.04 is out

i actually know the true name for that: pass assist = pass frequency its a old slider from 2006 game for PC xD i used too abuse that slider so bad
that i was getting realistic shots as a goalie
then shooting frequency put that at zero walla cpu just shoots at you XD

then after 2006 they changed it too different slider set to like very simliar to this one in NHL 07 - 09
then 10 and 11 and 12 they changed it again lol

In other words I'm pretty sure the AI behaves differently in GM than in Play Now.
Yep Savoie...I'd swear too that the game plays differently between Play Now/BEAGM. And for me, I prefer the gameplay in Play Now. And yep...with the same setup.

The two biggest differences I seem to see with Play Now is, a bit sloppier passing from the cpu, and more ints.

When it comes to sports video games, realism is what makes it more fun. the frustration factor kicks in when you can't get a simulation feel for the game. personally, i simply canNOT enjoy a sports game when the statistics are way off... but that's just me.
