Re: MLB 12 The Show Hands-On Preview and Interview with Ramone Russell (PS3, PS Vita)

Im very excited about the vita version especially the ps3 like graphics and all the features of past ps3 versions as well as 12 being added. I enjoy the broadcasting team and hope all of the in game commentary that is present on the ps3 version is added as well. Russell is there any real limitations that your team is experiencing with the vita as far as producing a game that rivals the PS3 version?

Hmm, I'm not sure if this is the right place, but has the pitch count board in LF at PETCO Park been corrected for MLB 12: The Show? It was correct before, but I noticed in MLB 11: The Show, instead of showing the current pitcher's pitch count (i.e Balls 12 Strikes 22 Total 34), it'd only show the pitch count of the current at-bat and the Total would refer to the amount of outs made in that half-inning.

It always seems a lot of people always have a problem with the commentary. I've never understood why. Here is a simple solution, turn the commentary off. That's what I always do. I listen to it for a few games and then turn it off. It makes the game much more enjoyable to play. Not because I don't have to listen to annoying voices, but rather it immerses me into the game more. It makes it more realistic. Do you think the players on the field in real life can hear the commentators on t.v.? No, all they hear is the announcer in the stadium.

What The Show really needs to do is give All-Star teams their regular jerseys. Save the official All-Star jerseys for the Home Run Derby, and when you play the All-Star game, each player should have their own teams jersey. So Ichiro wearing a Mariners jersey and then Jeter hitting next wearing his Yankees jersey and so on... that's really the main thing for me. There are obviously lots of other little things... like a better implemented 2 player co-op game. Instead of alternating hitter, we should be able to pick specific players we want to play with (hitting and fielding). When my gf and I played on the same team, we found ourselves just playing single player and passing the controller back and forth as in years past instead of using the co-op they put in the game.

Peace Out

IMO they need to change out that guy as well.

Personally, I'd prefer imagining me play as if I'm watching it on TV, not as if I'm at the ballpark. That's why the broadcast cameras and replay system are so important to me, and that's why most would prefer for the commentary to be improved on.

Maybe one day we can get an option where you can choose from what perspective you are viewing the game, Ie. TV broadcast, in the stands, etc. That way you would get the proper sounds associated with that view.

This is exactly what I would like!

I want as close to a real TV broadcast presentation (ESPN,Fox Baseball) as you can get. But I also want an option to view the game as if you were sitting in the ball park in the upper deck. And the camera angles and sounds would be associated with that view. It would be just like if you were watching the game from your favorite seat at the stadium.

I am hoping the "Camera Editor" that Sony added last year will be enhanced for MLB 12 The Show. I hope it allows you to set "Lock in" the camera anywhere in the stadium for Batting ,Pitching and Fielding too. This along with the hopfully enhanced "Realtime Presentation" could truly make it seem like you are actually sitting at your favorite seat in any stadium.

It would be great to have options for both!

In fact I would like to see a third option where you can have the the "True Baseball TV broadcast presentation" with all the stat overlays you would expect and at the sametime still be able to place and lock in the Batting ,Pitching and Fielding camera to any seat in the stadium minus the TV replays and commentary.

I am really hoping that the "Camera Editor" allows you too place Batting,Pitching and fielding camera locked in at any seat in the stadium in MLB 12 The Show.

It's personal preference - whether you wanna feel like your in the game or watching one on TV. I like to feel like I'm playing the game - not watching one on TV, so I mute the announcers. I hear all the subtle sounds I wouldn't hear over the announcers babbling.

I would like to see a first person view added to the game sometime. Imagine batting, pitching, and fielding in a first person perspective.. I think it would definitely make the field and stadiums seem realistically vast..

Quoting my own post because the very thing I mentioned is officially in the game now. "Zone Analog" is real.
