DiRT Showdown Announced, Fact Sheet, Trailer and Screenshots

I like this. I have found myself complaining when a game maker does not push the envelope and releases the same game with minor tweaks. I think Codemasters is thinking outside of the box and wants to keep things fresh, this is great news for the gamer. They know where their bread and butter is and wont be leaving the rally/race stuff that made the Dirt series so popular, this is more of an expansion of the Dirt franchise rather than a departure. Isn't this what we want from a sports/racing franchise?

If only Codies had ramped up the damage and placed a bit more emphasis on racing events, this would be essential. As it is, it's still a quality purchase for casual racing fans and undoubtedly a perfect gift for a child (and we mean that genuinely without any hint of derision). But for everyone else, it fails to surpass the still-incredible DiRT 2.
