I've had total squash matches, but I've had others that, even if they weren't 10 minutes long, felt like they were because of the pacing and back-and-forth momentum swings.
Are you playing mostly on Legend and are you winning most of your matches now that you've played for awhile? Not a fan of having to go by personal house rules because the game is too easy.

No, I'm playing on Hard with the momentum sliders turned all the way down. I've gotten to where I can win most matches that I should win -- i.e. ADR vs. McGillicuty or Cena vs. anybody -- but I still lose those matches sometimes, too, if a well-timed reversal happens.

When the roles are reversed, it's still a struggle to beat the elite guys. Maybe that's due to the way I play, or me not being as good as the guys you're seeing play in those videos. Who knows? I just know that for me, the game is still presenting a good challenge and I'm having fun with it.

I just started actually playing matches in Universe and am seeing a ton of stuff I hadn't already seen.

Good to know because the last game I played was SVR 10 and it took me literally 3 days to win 95% of the time on the hardest level even with reversal sliders jacked up for the AI and I don't even consider myself that great a player, it's just once you get familiar with the AI it gets formulaic on how to win quickly.

I guess with the ability to edit attributes I can always take the 3 or 4 wrestlers I plan to play with and lower thier ratings across the board down 10-20 points or so to keep the difficulty up. That way if I'm at a severe disadvantage agaisnt the Undertaker etc.. I can play old school and take the fight outside of the ring and do whatever I can to wear him down rather than just spamming moves back and forth. I plan on just taking 2 wrestlers from each brand (called WWF and NWA of course) and play with whatever Universe throws at me for matches.

Re: WWE 12 Retail Impressions

One other issue I have with what I've seen is that after 5 minutes (or after one kickout used up) the pin window seems really tiny for you to kick out. If that is THQ's way of making it difficult because you can't kick out more than once then I don't like it. How do you increase that window? By increasing resiliancy as an attribute for your wrestler?

Ive got a question i think was answered here but cant see it.

Can I edit the entire card change every match then play through the show using stream flow.

Some people say you have to play the edited match straight away whilst other such as yourself or caws.ws say you can edit the entire card without having to play an edited match up straight away

dont suppose you could clear this up for me?

cheers

Re: WWE 12 Retail Impressions

so let me get this straight. u TECHNICALLY only CONTROL ONE superstar in universe mode (although u can play as others)?

can u change who u control at any point in universe mode?
can u add & remove superstars, CAWS at any point in universe mode?
can replace shows at any point in universe mode?

It's called Universe for a reason. You are not one single person. You can choose to control a single person, but nothing says you have to. It can be an open-ended story mode. It can be a GM mode. It can be whatever the hell you want.

You have total control over every superstar in Universe mode. If you want to just play as one guy, you can. But it isn't like a sports game where you pick one guy and follow his career. And you can make changes to your Universe at any time. I was in my third year, I believe, when I decided to make Superstars into NXT.

Think of Universe Mode as a big sandbox that has tools you can use to create just about any wrestling world you want.
