Yes, why have Allen Iverson when you can have Jalen Rose

I think you may have misunderstood me a little bit. While I do think 2k has messed up on this venture, I'm certainly not angry about it. In truth, this DLC and everything it does or doesn't offer doesn't really affect me much as a 2k gamer, or what my goals for the game are. If anything, I'm quite confused by 2k's decision here.

I wouldn't bet against your assertion that this will end up being very popular with casual fans. My point is that 2k is missing a golden opportunity to have their cake and eat it too. If 2k had decided to just release a big classic roster/jersey pack, casual gamers would still have their "pick up and play" opportunity, and the die-hards would have an almost overwhelming amount of options with which they could edit and play around. One of the biggest reasons 2k11 was such a huge success and is still getting premium mileage put on it was the fact that the amount of options gamers had at their disposal with regards to creating classic rosters and whatnot was massive. Why wouldn't you want to continue to expand on that idea with your next game?

Online petitions rarely, if ever, lead to anything... at least in my experience.

I think everyone on this forum is afforded an awesome opportunity not typically available to gamers, in that we know for a fact that some of the good folks over at 2k actually read and post here. They want to hear what we have to say, and they do take our points into consideration. It's actually one of the most endearing things about the company. I can't think of any other in the industry that goes so far to keep a dialogue with their fanbase open in order to address direct concerns or desires.

I would say the best course of action is to keep doing what we're doing, which is posting here in a mature, constructive manner. If there's enough of a groundswell, 2k will notice.

I think you all underestimate the amount of people who will be buying this just for the chance to take their My Player online to dunk on Shawn Bradley!

this tbh, is a casual gamer's dream come true, i'm a COACH MODE player so I can't get into this but I definitely see the $$ potential in this

it's gonna be huge tbh

to be honest, i see things otherwise, sales/buzz/hype/everything shows that 2k12 is doing better than 2k11 and is almost a guarantee to surpass it in pure sales numbers right now

this DLC is almost a guaranteed hit because they're not releasing it to the hardcore-franchise-simulation-roster players

it's a *CASUAL* game online, aka it's made for the masses, those people who want to just log on and get a game going will get their fix here

I think it will be an incredibly huge hit. My post is all about anticipating the people offline who will get this dlc and then see that it's for online play and the players cannot be edited/etc will undoubtedly get upset

but in terms of mass appeal, it'll be incredibly huge.. nevermind all the legends being showcased or the extra game modes or anything else..

just the appeal of taking your player (My Player) and playing as him against the Legends almost guarantees this will be another hit for 2K
Where does it say that this is an online mode, aside from playing with the Legend's teams in online quick matches?

I just want to know where Iverson is on that list.... Does he have to be offically retired to a legend?
