Re: Forza Motorsport 4 Impressions From the OS Community

Has anybody else been having some difficulties with turning? It seems like whenever I come out of a turn by back wheels give out and I start to spin out. Does anybody have any suggestions to help me out with this?

Seems to me like your car is spinning out which is a classic case of oversteering.

The combining factors of the front wheels turning too much past the apex of the corner and the rear wheels not gaining enough traction in the corner exit due to you applying too much power to them too quickly is what causes oversteer. You'll have to train yourself to gradually straighten (or at times countersteer) the front tires once your car passes the apex of the corner. Then you must lighten up on the throttle until the rear tires can regain total grip of the road. Listen for a slight "chirping" sound coming from the rear tires as a clue to tell you when this happens so that you can immediately put down the power afterward.

I hope this helps you out.

Does anyone know if they plan on fixing the leaderboards? It's insane that pretty much every lower class time is a muscle car. Something has to be wrong there.

Is it the Dodge Dart?

I love this alien spacecraft I was awarded at level 35. Is it viable for the R3 class? It has a speed of 10 but again I believe that's on a per class basis.

yeah, the dart messes up the boards. Im sure they will figure it out though, just as they did in fm3 with the datsun.

@minntwin fan. to continue with Kruzas perfect explanation (thanks for that dude) You need to tune the car so that it gets a bit more grip out of the car once you finish the turn, get straight, and accelerate. firmer front, slightly, (tiny) bit softer rear. keep playing with the tuning until you find your ideal setup that fits your driving style.

I check out the SF of lots of tuners, find the car tunes that suit me, and then ask the guy how they set them up, ballpark. its a great time tuning a car for your driving style, and an even better time once you dial one in.

I seem to always tune a car slightly under powered, and bump up the tranny and the suspension. the car doesnt fly away from the AI on straights, which is nice, to races are a bit closer, but in the corners the cars fly. it almost makes each and every turn a chess game when im going to sneak out from behind the AI, or when im going to make my move.

I dont have the game yet. My question is do all the cars that you purchace and win in career mode have working odometers ? This adds a litle realism to me win you rack up miles on some of your cars like in GT.

I'm pretty sure the game keeps track of the mileage you drive with each car; there are specific achievements linked to manufacturers and car mileage. As to whether the dashboard odometers work, however, I have no idea; I play with the chase view (blasphemy! )
