So on to the bigger question, why does EA NOT consider this an issue???
that's the 64 million dollar question...Just cause MAYBE 5-10 UDFA's make it on team's rosters in real life per year doesnt mean a draft pick should be cut as a result of him

This year IRL there was LESS than 2 UDFA's per team... and this was the highest number ever. EA took a very good idea, but botched it. The fix would be simple in theory, just let the CPU "cheat" and know the actual rating of the UDFAs. That way they won't keep a UDFA that is rated, for example, "99?" at the expense of every other player thinking that the UDFA is really rated a 99 (when ultimately he is not).

I still think its a great feature for the HUM player, just botched for CPU.

However, teams keeping some of these players because they have a higher potential really doesn't seem too far fetched to me. However, cutting players drafted that year in favor of udfa is disappointing. My question is though, to what extent?
What I read is around 10 per team and some have stated that these guys get cut the next preseason because at that point the CPU knows their real overall. Mind you that just makes room for a new batch of 10 or so udfas but at least the problem would not be compounded with each new year if this is accurate.

Others however have said that the league gets flooded with these guys after a few years. I don't know who's right on that but it would make sense (within the logic of the system) for the UDFAs to be cut the following year unless they actually turned out to be good.

EA have trouble doing anything in the right quantity. They also seem to really latch onto themes/gimmicks and go too far with it.

Marshawn Lynch has *one* good run in the playoffs last year, so they give him a "playoff performer" role. Uh, ok.

Gus Johnson says "getting away from cops speed", and so they decide to put it in the game and play it every time a fast player scores a big TD.

What's his name does that unlikely helmet catch for the Giants in the Superbowl, so rather than take the message behind the catch (hey EA - sometimes really unlikely catches happen), EA simply copy the animation frame for frame and make it happen far too regularly. And don't add any other really weird sensational catches.

And a couple of big names happen to be UDFAs, so when they finally put the feature in the game, they go overboard with it. Classic EA.

Agreed 100%, but just like the gripes that come from the NCAA title, these issues all relate back to issues with the game engine itself as far as gameplay issues. Due to the fact that a company the size of EA/Tiburon refuses to scrap this game engine after multiple years of worn out animations and gameplay is amazing. Year after year EA takes a used car with over 150,000 miles on the engine, gives it a new interior and a new paint job and sells it to us as new, nevermind the fact that after driving the car for 5000 miles, we once again realize the issues that remain under the hood and EA attempts to "fix" the car until time runs out and we once again are sold that new used car again.

Players drafted in the the 1st through 5th rounds of a draft should not be cut before the regular season for the season immediately following that draft (i.e. the player's rookie season).

It happens way too often.
