@ cgalligan you cant speak for 10,000,000 people. There is a reason why this post was made, people are upset with the online performance of this game. Lets be real, online gaming and updated rosters are the only thing that keeps sports games selling.

I see the issue, but isnīt it a bit of odd that a writer now affiliated with EA writes this story? I think thatīs odd.

i want online to feel like offline as close as possible so no lag compensation, same game tempo, no disconnection unless the players do it. streamlined play to play basically
THis has always been the case, just look at the NHL2K freeze, it was an uproar fueled by EA lovers, but then whem EA got itīs own freeze, in franchise, in trade screen , online freezes, loop bugs etc etc, itīs so lowkey itīs F-ing insane....

Re: OS Roundtable: Are 2K12's Online Gaffes a Major Concern?

As of right now, for me atleast, being I am 85% offline, 15% online - this is a big concern. I am an Association player, and with the lack of rookies and the lock out going on, all I want to do is play online till the lock out ends. Starting an Association right now would be boring, trying to rebuild the Nets with an NBA 2K11.5.

A patch was just released, now I am waiting for the PS3 to be fixed.

Sorry boss but I disagree 100%. I never bought 2k9, i sold 2k10 after a month. As of now I have no desire to buy NBA 2K13, only reason why NBA 2K12 hasn't gone back is due to a dedicated league I'm in. and quite honestly I'm looking forward to seeing what "the other guys" have in store.

Re: OS Roundtable: Are 2K12's Online Gaffes a Major Concern?

YES! This is a huge concern for me. I buy sports games because I like to compete, and not just against the cpu but against real people.

Idk about the rest of you guys but even when i'm playing offline its most likely against friends and we play to win cheese or not. The thing about me is I can't play cheese because I'm always thinking like i'm really on the court and exploiting weakness in strategy not in the game. I remember my friends used to clown me back in 2k8-2k9 because I actually used the post moves, and exploited there weaknesses with it. They'd be like "You think this is real Life!?!?"... YUP

As for online, theres a 97% chance that if a game doesn't have online i won't even buy it, I get sick of the CPU in hours. I need the game to feel dif. everytime and that's what online brings. Even when playing cheesers if you use real basketball strategy they can be blown out. That's the fun part, thinking like a coach, not just against cpu called plays but against real minds.

2k would be the best sports game hands down if there online was as smooth and lag free as offline. This is an area they HAVE to fix, the other modes just won't hold me long enough. After all the fun times, jokes, and memories i've had online with videogames there no way i could ever go back to just playing the cpu, and thinking thats fun. Idk how people do it honestly.

NBA2k is just a reminder of the position we're in as citizens. There isn't any competition so all we can do is bend over and take it. Illuminati2ksports

I think that the online issues are a huge deal for about 30% of 2k's fan base, a legit annoyance for another 30%, a minor inconvenience for about 20% and of little concern for the remaining 20%.

For me, I've been an offline player almost exclusively for years up until the last few months before 2k12 dropped, once I finally got a bit tired of association mode. I was slightly disappointed that the online experience was so sporadic over the first week but more than anger I felt indifference. Sometimes indifference can be worse though.
