I think bball games need at least a little bit of "locking on" on D. People wanted to completely remove all "bumping" but I think its a necessary evil to maintain balance.

Im just hoping its the "slow Mavs defenders" that is making it hard for me to stay in front of people and this isnt how every defender is....its gonna be hell vs a human..
Remember youre playing against 2 of the fastest players in the whole league with the ball in their hands. Its not supposed to be easy or even normal to stay in front of them. I do find I can do it however with anticipation and watching the ball hand. I'm also not experiencing any delayed block response on PS3

when i press the block button, it often takes forever for my player to start the block animation. it's really delayed. for some reason they were able to make the pull up jumpers super quick and responsive, but they couldn't do the same for the block animations. this gives the offensive player an unfair advantage...because shooters can rise up and shoot at lightning speed, yet defenders can't rise up as quickly to defend those shots...the game isn't giving you the proper tools to counter the speed of the offensive player.
Not having this issue at all. Quite the contrary, I feel I'm making way to many blocks in a 4 minute quarter game I get 2 blocks minimum which would amount to 24 blocks in a full 12 min quarter game. But I attributed this to the difficulty and slider settings.

it's not so much a delay that i'm feeling...there is sometimes a delay, but it's more of an inconsistency in the speed in which my player moves on defense...kind of a herky jerky thing..seems like he kind of speeds up and slows down in unpredictable ways, even though i'm not doing anything different on the controller...

it's not a huge issue, but just feels a bit off to me.

i should also clarify that i'm mostly referring to block animations on the perimeter when guarding jump shooters...the blocking feels pretty good in the paint, but when contesting jump shooters i'm definitely seeing a delay to the block animation after pressing the button.

i don't know what you're doing that i'm not...I'm on the ps3, so maybe there it's something with the ps3 version.

Re: NBA 2K12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)

From a demo standpoint, I'm disappointed. I don't understand why all the options were disabled. I could live with no subs but to not be able to even call for a screen is a little ridiculous.

I will say that I did like the player movement and the new post-up button is good, although I'm wondering how to do signature gathers now? Dirk is going to be a blast to use this year; he's very dangerous in the triple-threat position and I like that the CPU recognized that. I was able to create space and shoot a J over Bosh and then later when he pressed up on me, I drove past him for a layup.

I like the push dribble as well.

I know I'll love the retail, but I'm done with the demo as it's too limiting.

cracks me up how guys can play the demo for hours on end, knowing how limited 2k made it. After about 15 minutes with it, I was done.

"Moving right along...nothing to see here."

What do you by freedom? From you past comments I peg you as a sim gamer. But your post spits in the face of simulation to some degree, by saying "necessary evil" if that evil does not happen in the nba. right? "necessary evil" seems like a patch to cover a gameplay flaw.

It does not matter what happens in real life, in this case. It is either the cpu is cheating or just a code in the game were you cant sucessfuly perform certain defensive moves if timed perfectly. if it is a human vs human and the heat user isnt good, to a degree lebron will still be unstoppable. hope thats not the case.
