I am amazed at least once every time I play by the ai doing something that a computer shouldn't do like perfectly timed hesitation dribble and up and under fakes. Their doesn't seem to be a set time for the hesitation and it seems different players do it for different lengths. Dwayne Wade will freeze you two or three times a drive while LeBron tends to do it just once. While they seem to have a certain style attributed to them its hard to figure out.

And the pics being set by the cpu are brilliant and make sense this year. I don't how many times I have had to decide whether to switch or not and been taken advantage of consequently.

So far in the post (back to the basket only) - I've only been able to execute the up and under, fadeaways, and hookshots. When I try to do the shimmys/shakes like back in 2k11, I can't pull it off, I'm doing exactly the same thing as 2k11 (as instructed for 2k12) but Dirk always goes into the up and under animation despite the fact I'm flicking both ways.

Is anyone pulling off the back to the basket moves consistently?
You probably aren't doing it fast enough. Flick the stick as fast as you can and you should get it.

You have to be holding the ball to do a shimmy. Then move it quickly to the left or right of the player. I have been able to do the single shimmy shot but i cant do the double shimmy shot. It wont do the second shimmy. Instead of shimming to the second side he pump fakes. But im about to make a post video and post it here and the media thread.

The sliding (which I hate) is probably a concession so we would have *more* control and a movement model that's understandable to video gamers. Otherwise, you would actually have players frozen in place for a moment while making a sudden movement change because they're shifting their weight and having to plant a leg to do so. I would actually *love* to see this rather than the slidey movement model we have, and I think 2K needs to go in this direction next, but I don't think the people clamoring for instanteous response would.

That said, the Mavs aren't the fastest team in the world. I'm sure things will feel different with Monta Ellis and Derek Rose. Also, Mike Wang mentioned more explosiveness out of the sizeup/triple threat this year.
And also try to get Jason Terry in the game its a beautiful thing to chain dribbling moves together, it's so much faster than j. kidd's and others. i am amazed, it kind of reminded me of nba live 10 with more signature dribbles.(get rudy fernandez fouled out of the game and you'll get Jason Terry in)

I've only played a very little bit, but one thing I noticed is that FINALLY, the right stick can be used effectively to defend shots.

I'm loving the bank shots right now. I have Dirk playing like a young Tim Duncan. I'm gonna have a lot of fun with this game when I unlock the '98 Spurs.

The game is amazing, but can anybody explain to me why does Jason Kidd (34%) and JJ Barea (35%) have the 3pt specialist icon?

It looks like the 2k insider will suck again with player ratings
