From what I've seen, they contested jumpers are gone, but not completely. For example, with Lebron and Dirk, I've seen 3 different set shots each. If you go back to 2k7 and look at Dirk's signature shot there, it's a stand still in this game. Along with that, there is the Dirk shot that everyone says they like so much and one more, but it's seen more rarely.

I think the contested jumper was replaced more by a pull up jumper.

Might I say, the escape shots are awesome! Standing still at the three point line and hold LT and move the right stick in any direction, it works perfect. The best part, if you just tap the stick and don't actually do the shot, you don't even lose your dribble. Great innovation!

Hey if you guys love it im happy for you . I know im not alone here in saying the dribbling passing and overall movement can be alot better .
Again im not comparing it to last year , it has improved but to me the basic mechanics and movement engine leave a lot to be desired imo .
"Too much animation not enough control"

That's how I've felt about b-ball and maddens for years now. S**t, The Show too (with those fielding animations) Once those long *** animations kick in, you might as well put down the controller and take a drink or something.

About to try the demo now.

I love the escape shots. Using them to get past defenders never gets old.

absolutely amazing.
- PS3 looks close to the 360 version for once, no aliasing issues!
- gameplay is silky smooth and not clunky

very very impressed, every year the 2k games are great but I usually say the demos are **** which they are because of one reason or other. But I really can't believe the demo this year plays so great

Too much animation not enough control doesn't apply to 2k12 at all in my opinion. I could understand it in previous titles, but not now.

Just played on Ps3.
I like it.
-PS3 graphics seems improved from last year.
- I did the "Walk" animation where I let the ball roll up the court(casual BBall fan).
- I like the Post-up.
-I got use to Dirks jumper quickly
-dribbling feels improved.

Game is crazy nice, loving the new controls. If I cld do isomtion anyone can. I had the hardest time do a spin in 2k11. That's goes to show u, how much they improved on that front. The players models are a lot slimmer, not bulky like last year. Uniforms fit better tighter. I felt like they were wearing skirts, instead of shorts last year. Man I'm loving wat I see so far. Going trade in 2k11 tomorrow, time to retire it.

Waiting a bit to change direction is realistic in basketball. Even the quickest guards with the best handles must have a sense of weight and inertia to them. If you could turn and spin on a dime then it would make for a very unrealistic experience and player stats would count for much less. I think what we have here is a happy video game medium.
