Some honest opinions after spending a few hours and a few games with this patch.

1. Defensive backs are much more aggressive going after interceptions. Which is a good thing IMO. Unlike Madden 12, these backs don't drop interceptions.

If they have an opportunity to, they will jump that route. Makes the passing game way better because you now can't force anything for sure or just lob it up there on streaks.

2. Seeing the cpu using a lot more spin moves and jukes when they are running the ball.

3. Ball carrier vision is improved, seeing a lot more cut back multiple times in a single run type of runs now. They actually using the whole field when they are running.

4. Defensive ends are bringing the heat. No need to blitz, DEs get a lot of pressure on their own now.

5. Defense react to scrambling QBs a lot quicker now. Now most scrambles are 1 or 2 yard runs. Every once in a while they break a 20 yard scramble, but it is very rare now for them to get over 6 yards on a single scramble.

6. Seeing a lot of over throws and under throws when the QB is moving while throwing.

7. Special teams needs big improvement. CPU can't return at all now. Gunners get down the field way too fast on punts and on kickoffs they get no blocking what so ever.

8. Screens work very well now.

9. Play recognition seems to be greatly improved. Defense picks up your play calling pattern within 2 series now. That is a good thing.

This was on All American Coach Mode.

I'm primarily a coach mode player and it's great seeing the effect that readjusted tendencies have on gameplay. Seeing guys like Lamichael James & Darron Thomas, Denard and other players play to their true tendencies makes for a much better game to watch. I have noticed some instances where LB's are just standing in place as qb's or sometimes rb's cross the line of scrimmage like they are stuck in a trance. I never saw that prior to patch. I've only seen that 2 or 3 times in the 2 games I've played. Seemed like they messed with LB awareness to open up option plays. I feel sorry for the playbook and no-huddle guys. Hopefully they can fix those things. Like the patch so far. Anyone else seen "stuck in a trance" LB's?

What Crazziness.. Dude playing on Varsity saying its TOO easy. Look you are half the problem. Learn how to tailor the game. AA is obviously the better choice for these things as everyone is telling you. And in ALL honesty the ONLY way to Get a REAL cpu game with STATS & CHALLENGE is to get the sliders dialed in on HEISMAN.. That is the ONLY way and I will repeat ONLY way to keep people from going 12-0 every year..... Yes some of the PATCHES dont always go so smoothly but in ALL HONESTY how could you expect to enjoy anything if you can't tailor the game to your needs... If your not smart enough to do that then you prob dont have much fun with anything. 2K > than EA but EA is not as bad as THEY say

Yeah, but don't you feel like the receivers should fight for the ball when the DBs are jumping their routes? Seriously, they just let them walk up and steal the pass away on inside post routes and there's no rhyme or reason, sometimes the DBs jump it and sometimes they don't. I'm just afraid to throw there. And they are successful completing the interception far too often. It's just not even fun throwing balls to the middle of the field because it's a crapshoot, even against really bad teams. I just got picked off 7 times in the first half against Middle Tennessee State.

Yeah, but offensive lines are just folding for the defensive tackles on the inside. I've finished three quarters against MTS and I've sacked their QB 10 times and they've sacked me 8 times. Defensive linemen are penetrating the o-line far too easily for both human and computer players.

I've also noticed that tackling is far to sure, now. No one seems to escape a tackle and I've seen defensive backs bring down a running back with one arm, both by me and by the computer.

It's only one game so far, but I'm not optimistic at all. I absolutely loved last years game and played it constantly. I was really looking forward to the new big 10 in the game this year, but I have a feeling I'm just going to go back to my Road to the Show pitcher on MLB 2011 and shelve this game indefinitely.

The tackling thing was like that BEFORE the patch. So that isn't anything new.

Far as passing, it depends on the WR. I seen some WRs attack the ball and some just concede to the DB.

Far as the offensive line and defensive line....Haven't seen that issue, might just be your sliders or the team you are using. So just play a few more games with various teams to see if it continues.

If it does continue for you, it's an easy fix. Just increase pass blocking a little or lower pass rush. Or if you want to get your hands dirty, lower the block shedding for DTs.

Hope they didnt turn d line pass rush up (Way too many sacks.... Way too few DT's Tackleing HB's.) I was getting 30 sacks a year and every other user with 28 26 ... That is with one Player by the way.

Fair enough. I am playing with Purdue and they suck pretty bad, so what should I expect I guess. I'm playing with standard sliders and as a matter of principal I refuse to use them. As a software developer, I find the concept entirely to be a cop out. It's a blatant admission by the makers of the game that they cannot get the game to resemble real life, so they leave it up to you to do the work for them. I think it's stupid.

I did turn Pass Rush down for USER and UP for CPU ... 40 to 80 at one point to try to keep the CPU from getting sacked 10 11 12 times a game.... Or the Same GUY getting 3 sacks a game... 7 min quarters. Those are pretty big pet peeves of mine and it's all happening in my favor.. that's why most people never realize the gameplay issue they think they are infinately lucky.
