Re: NCAA Football 12 Title Update #2 - Waiting on Approval From Microsoft and Sony

People believe OS and similar sites are a majority when it's just a vocal minority. Why does OS get weight from developers and some EA players drop in? Because they can generally get a good response and fast answers when they need it. A few of my friends with the game told me they love it. I didn't tell them about the roster issue or anything.

OS is a vocal minority, the group organizing to not buy NCAA or Madden next year is minute, tiny compared to the group that will buy the game. Not to say that people off message boards are 100% oblivious and some would know it, but hell things like the roster glitch, you really wouldn't notice unless your paying close attention or on a message board. Obviously it needs to be fixed and knowing about it is somewhat killing the game for me.

this year was a record sale for them, and with all the social media, and different ways they can find to get the game to a larger audience, sales are going to increase each year here on out.
I know most of the time, the members here at OS complain about the gameplay and how it's broken and the reason they won't buy the game next year.

But this is a different case. Many people are having legitimate game-breaking problems (freezing, ODs not working, etc.). These are things that "casual" gamers will notice and be frustrated with too.

Now, whether that deters them from buying the game next year is impossible to know. I'm hoping that it will cause a significant enough dent in their sales.

Nice of you to avoid answering my question about your "facts", and I fail to see how you (one user) having minimal issues means anything to anyone. I have personally had zero freezes, but you don't see me claiming that they don't exist.

Next you are going to tell me your coaches progress normally and you don't go from 15 or so A+ coaches to 70+ in one year like everyone else. By the way that's EA's biggest new feature this year. How much is EA paying you again?

I completely agree with your argument on all this, however, if you are a dynasty-only player, then Madden and NCAA are huge headaches this year, due to issues that affect the longevity and continuity of dynasties and franchises. i.e., progression, draft class imports, unrestricted free agent glitch, coach progression, etc. But to back up your main point again, the zillion teens out there only want to go online and rack up as many achievements as possible. They don't care if it is unrealistic that there freshman running back had 5,000 yards rushing in their dynasty, or that in year 5 of Madden there are no actual current NFL players left on teams anymore.

You really don't think EA and Microsoft/Sony communicate about the status of the patch? I guess you don't work in the corporate world with clients.

You're missing his point. What he's saying is that a LOT of people have had NUMEROUS problems w/ all the new "features." Your Custom Playbook probably has over 300 plays in it. I can get CP to work too... by adding a ton of formations in that I will never use and only slow me down when trying to get to a certain formation in the game.

Custom Playbook should be just that. If someone wants 5 formations w/ 5 plays from each one, then that's their right. But you can't do that in the game. My first CP had 12 formations and 114 plays... and when I got into Play Now and went on offense... it was empty... eventually I hit something... can't recall just what now, and all 11 guys exited the huddle in a massive cluster that looked like 11 gay guys out on the town together.

As far as freezes... oh good God, I could go on for days about the freezes I've encountered. Point being... just because YOU haven't experienced these things as much as other people have, doesn't justify throwing some random figure {2% +-} out there.

And what really sucks for gamers is that when you buy an EA game, you'd better have the ability to plug your console into the Internet, otherwise you're screwed. Believe it or not, there are people that live in areas where Internet access isn't quite as accessible to them as it is to you and they don't find out the game has all these problems until they've shelled out their $60.00 bucks and returned home w/ it. And for them... there is no help.

Right....because only 2% play online dynasties. EVERY person who plays online dynasty CANNOT PLAY THE GAME.
