I was very happy with the gameplay until I discovered I can score the same goal over and over.

Every time I get behind the net I can score with a wraparound of sorts where you circle to the front of the net, shooting the puck inside the far goalpost. I've done this several times on superstar-hardcore, forehand and backhand, on both goalies.

I was thinking of getting the game but over the years I've played too many sports games thinking don't score this way, don't score that way.

I noticed that wraparound money goal also....I'm hoping that they address it in a patch.....

I don't doubt they will put some sort of fix in a patch or tuner... which will then cripple other aspects of the game play, which will lead to more tuners fixing the new problems created/whatever the online kids are whining about.

Sometimes it's nice to be an offline NHL player.

Agreed.

I just enjoy playing the game at my own pace, and my own way.

I've felt that way many times about NHL 11 which is why I wasn't able to play it from the release until the release of NHL 12. I can normally go an entire year playing a hockey game. Madden and NCAA are often like this to because they have money plays. In fact NCAA has the deep ball money play right now that works about 90% of the time. When I play NCAA I limit myself to throwing the deep ball because of this. I should not be forced to do this to make the game enjoyable.

House Rules has been a common term for sports games since the NES (and probably further back to board games like Strat-o-Matic. What you think you shouldn't have to do doesn't match reality. If this is a problem, you should probably not play sports games.
