Anybody notice that players seem to actually make contact with objects rather than having a force-field around their hands? For example in the Bill Russel block, I don't remember it EVER looking like that when a shot was blocked.

It was usually "close enough" when it came to stuff like that.

Crazy attention to detail.

Yo SouthBeach, shout out to you for posting these gifs of footage. Watching the trailer is nice but actually seeing the footage on these looped gifs has allowed me to see a bunch more details and what not that I missed while I was drooling during the trailer.

Man, I'm drooling at the thought of what 2K could do with the NFL license. If they could do NFL 2K again...and make classic teams/players...

*shudders*

Re: NBA 2K12 - Momentous Trailer

After getting so hyped from the beautiful trailer, I sort of wonder if there's going to be some dissapointment when the actual gameplay vid drops tomorrow. The trailer is edited in a way to hide animation issues with the game (lots of sliding on defense and with collisions), which was pretty evident in the Gamescon videos. Unless 2K's made miraculous improvements to the movement since then.

Either way, it does seem that the quality of individual animations has gone up this year. If 2K can ever figure out a movement engine that uses foot planting and doesn't rely on slidey players to produce responsive gameplay, it will be incredible.
