I was wondering the same thing but I guess that got lost amongst the "X player's eyebrow is too thick" posts.

First, consider the bar raised yet again by 2K. Whatever the ETA was for NBA Elite from EA, add another year to it. You guys got your work cut out for you. Proof positive that a game can improve and draw renewed excitement every year from the masses.

2K is going for the jugular with this game and EA should protect their necks because the standard it seems that 2K is attempting to set, is a standard that is strongly making a claim to rank NBA 2K as the premier sports game in the entire industry, not just the genre. Visually it looks to already be there with the visual improvements over '11, but if they add to those visual improvements some solid gameplay along with some other new wrinkles, that will only cement that claim.
Good post. Man, I've never done this for a game before, but this trailer all but put a wrap on me picking 2K12 up for multiple systems. Since I've got the PS3 in one room and the 360 in another, it'll be nice to never go without 2K12

Same here... Which was probably why I was a little underwhelmed by the trailer... Up until I saw Magic no looking to Worthy for the jam on the fast break... Then I saw Grandmama throw one down... Yeah, this trailer was pretty good.

See Chris Paul's left arm there? Looks like 2K finally fixed the arm sleeve/rubberband issue.

As well as the calf sleeve/sock issue.

That's about as good a picture as I could get... But those are indeed Magic's Weapons... Super cool!

Yeah I haven't been able to piece that together quite yet. In the shots we've seen of 2K12 from that era, the breakaway rims have been present. Of course I know nothing of this, but it feels like rim physics and response would be a tough thing to execute on two separate types of rims. It took video games years and years before we were finally able to truly attach a player's hands to the rim, for example. As such, I could see where there could be inconsistencies if an animation made for a breakaway rim happened on a non-breakaway rim. So while it would have been truly authentic and cool to see the non-breakaways, I'm not too upset, only because it sounds like it'd be a tough thing to implement (in my head anyway).

It would have been nice to have the rest of the basket look a little more era specific though. It appeared to be of the 1980's ilk. I'd have to take a closer look though.
