Punt Returns certainly can be frustrating. They simply don't set up like a PR should be set up. Not sure why this hasn't been hit on. Kick Off Returns can be wonky as well. Seems like the return game never seems to get any attention.

I'll be honest I have been playing this game off and on since Friday. The Super LB's and crazy INT's I really haven't seen. Nor have I noticed the psychic DB's. I haven't seen a ton of INT's to begin with and most of them have either been balls thrown in to coverage or passes where the QB simply misses his target.

I have seen defenders in zone be a little quicker than I'd like in undercutting deep crossing routes and making the plays. Only once or twice, but that i have seen. That being said, when it has happened they have been very highly rated players.

One positive as opposed to NCAA, in Zone coverage defenders do a much better job of maintaining leverage in coverage. One problem I noticed in NCAA is that especially in 2 deep zone coverage safeties were slow to recognize vertical routes on the perimeter, then took bad angles leading to too many wide open WR's on certain route combo's.

This I have yet to see in Madden. I've hit on deep plays vs. 2 Deep Zone coverage, but it's been when I had the right play called vs. the right defense..Ratings obviously played a part as well. . Although even when that happens, there's enough variance in QB accuracy where I have missed open receiver deep because the QB simply over threw him or threw it too far to the outside, etc, which to me is encouraging.

The encouraging thing about improved zone leverage and the overall way players are deployed in zone is that the days of drag and short crossing routes being able to be used over and over again do move down the field are over. Even if you do complete the pass on a drag route, if they are in the right defense the receiver is usually stopped for a negligible gain.

I can't remember the last time a game was released that has had such a diverse response from critics & gamers alike. I'm awaiting delivery of the game so I guess I will have to see for myself.
In regards to the crowd noise being lifeless, please tell me it's not as bad as on NCAA 12.

It's in the same ballpark imo as far as crowd noise. The audio in this game is pretty bad. I basically turn the sound down and listen to music or podcasts or whatever when I am playing.

Why didn't I trust my gut? Why didn't I listen to the reviewer? This game has some good points but overall 11 is better. I haven't played long enough to give an accurate review but I have enough of an opinion to decide to sell this game on Craigslist tomorrow. The presentation is pretty good although a bit choppy. The colors are a lot more vibrant this year. The commentary is a lot worse. It was bad before but now it's just BAD. The music and stadium sounds aren't really there. I can't explain it but I can barely hear it. The gameplay is terrible. Players seem to skate across the field or just appear in front of my receivers. I put up 700 yards of offense in my first preseason game using mostly backups. Something is really wrong with the kicking. Never had a problem before but missed 5 straight PATs. You can't tell me it's skill. The meter is simply broken. I tried everything to get it to work. The only thing that helped was adjusting my special teams sliders, which can only be done in the main menu before you start a franchise. Yeah, I'm all set with this game. I'm ready to continue my Franchise in Madden 11. Madden 12 took a huge step backwards. I don't even think a patch could help it.

I can't tell you of a perfect video game. That will never happen. But when a football game in 2004 is still better than a football game in 2011, something is seriously wrong. Not just a little bit better, but light-years better.

The new additions and enhancements to Franchise mode make 12 a must buy.
