Not sure where to put this so I'll just ask in here - If you lower the speed threshold, does that help the defense more or the offense? I've always been hesitant to lower it as I thought it might make things more offense based due to the fact that WRs and RBs tend to be faster than most defensive players. I know there are exceptions to this but in general that's the case and I thought if I lowered this then that difference would be more exaggerated.

However, there are the times where you might have a speedy CB who should catch a RB or WR but doesn't. I just wondered what the people who lower the threshold tend to find, does it make for more offense or better defense?

Depends on the players. The lower the number the more difference in the slowest to fastest players. So its about the players and not the sides of the ball.

The game felt and looked nice, but not really a huge improvement. I also have not noticed DPP. I know it's in the demo, but I saw nothing in my game that showed me it made a difference on the field. After a few fumbles Grant showed in the pause menu that he was going to cover up more and try not to break any tackles. He went on to fumble two more times.

Game is good, but not really good enough to make me want to go out and buy it.

For me, I have very slow as my speed (I know, not the most popular speed) and 19 as my thres.

Its amazing, not for everyone but it makes the game 1000% better.

When I had it on 50, I'm not kidding Urlacher caught up to Grant on a 50 yard run...

Yeah, I know that kind of thing's not realistic but it helps to keep the score down and that's my main aim with Madden. I'm not too obsessive with everyone having the correct speeds as long as the game stays defensive. On a lower threshold Grant would have taken that to the house I'm guessing and I'd rather have him get caught even if it is unrealistic.

Basically, when the game's 0-0 I'm still interested as to what might happen, when it's 21-0 I get bored of playing and if it's 30-30 I just lose immersion as it seems ridiculous even though I know that kind of thing happens sometimes.

Well I'm a HUGE football fan and a HUGE sim player so I want the stats and the ratings to matter, I DON'T want an 80 speed LB catching up to a 90 speed HB...

Get what I'm saying? I see your approach, as I love defense as well, but come on the whole game gets out of whack when you've got Rodgers catching a Bears CB on a potential pick 6.

For me, stats/ratings> defensive game any day of the week.

Re: Madden NFL 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)

I have not tried slow yet. The NFL is about speed so I don't play on slow. The thing that bothers me is the psychic defenders and how the ball is short on some deep passes.Called an audible. Had steps on the defender. Rogers pass was short and the ball on replay suddenly drops the defender swats it way. . Its like its built into the programming. I saw Rogers play in Atlanta and his passes are not short . That is trash EA and not what I see on Sunday. Slants are almost automatic. I like the running game . The hits on the quarterback are unrealistic. No QB can take that much punishment. I think its better than Madden 11. First day purchase? NCAA 12 has scared me so I cant trust it

Try slow, a lot less psychic DB's and LB's on slow/very slow
