Re: Madden NFL 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360)

If this thread is any indication, this place is going to be hilarious come release time.

W/R/T the demo, I was very pleased with the way the game looks and feels, with a couple of exceptions.

The game definitely has aliasing problems (jagged edges) which I hope is due to this being an older build. Even if they stay in the game, they only really show up while the players are still, so it's not that big of an issue. Along with this are the animation rendering (especially at the LOS) being very choppy. This was also a problem in the NCAA demo, but it was fixed in retail, so I'd imagine it would also be fixed here come release.

In terms of gameplay, there are 2 big issues, both involving defensive backs, and both being explained and demonstrated earlier in the thread. Passive dbs in zone when being run at, and passive dbs in coverage (which is also a problem in NCAA retail).

Other than that the game is really good at the moment, with the player interaction being noticeably better and real football being replicated much more closely than past iterations. The additions to gameflow are fantastic, as you can dictate run or pass on offense and aggressive/conservative on defense, and the plays change as you cycle back and forth.

Wow, really? This is hands down the best field I have ever seen in any outdoor sports game and it isn't even close.

Pro's-
No super LB's yet
Game plays smoothly
QB's can move (NFL has numerous QB's quicker than 5 sec 40's, but Madden always portrays them running 6-7 sec 40's)
Passing feels miles better than NCAA

Con's-
Player models are off (player size including pads and jersey just don't look right)
Players are shredded (players are ripped, big veins showing, and to much bulk (Peppers appears to have 28" biceps in the game))
Graphics are "Cartoonish" looking (same as last year I know, however unacceptable)

Graphics= Better, but who really complained?
Environment/crowd= Bust! Why wont EA make a crowd that interacts, Why is everyone black?
Difficulty= Fun, Challenging

Here's my gripe. You shouldn't have to adjust sliders to make the game ready to play! What a Joke? If Madden developers want a Sim presentation don't allow QB's the chance to run for 15-20 yds per carry!

Tackling is better, but HB's Like Grant don't catch sudden speed bursts and run through lineman! Get Real!

My Grade= D+, I'm an online guy and I know that none of the presentation/cut scenes will be included because EA doesn't know how to integrate Computer play and user play online. Why do I get excited every year to get let down?

over all i like the demo, but i don't like how they make you change the d line and o line and also hot routs and such, they should of kept it like they did in previous years.
